the other day I spent probably 30 minutes comparing solutions to share files between two machines over the network. I ended up just running this Python line...
I'm also running Kubuntu, but I'll switch to EndeavourOS. I wouldn't pick Debian because I like having the latest versions of things as they're released, some things even in beta, but other than that I think it's a solid choice if it fits your needs.
I converted around 10 people to Signal as well. Basically since I deleted my WhatsApp account, either they would create their Signal accts, or we wouldn't have an instant messaging channel. They still use mostly WhatsApp with others, but at least they run Signal alongside.
I wish Signal was more dependable and had better mainstream features so more people would switch and stick around. The fact the Desktop client doesn't sync message history, the app sometimes not notifying people, and unreliable voice or video calls were concerns that I heard or experienced so far.
Yes, I don't think the problem with Reddit is just a collection of recent poor decisions, rather it's a fundamental result of it being a centralized platform that aims to be profitable. Same as Facebook, Twitter, and other networks.
But I'd like (and hope) to see many UI/UX improvements to Lemmy on desktop and mobile in the following weeks and months.
I never bothered to search other sentences, but after reading them I still prefer the brown fox. There's something about using simple words that makes it more satisfying than the others.
https://lemmy.ml/robots.txt , https://lemmy.world/robots.txt , etc don't seem to disallow posts, so the text-based content should be easy to index, at least for these instances.
