I still use GitHub due to the convenience, but a lot of folks on Lemmy like Codeberg. I also setup a Gitea mirror of my GitHub the other day and it’s pretty cool. Easy to self host
Hi I have no idea what I’m doing when it comes to networking. I have ipv6 off on my home network because I was scared of accidentally exposing things outside of my home network. I’m using Ubiquiti. Can someone give me/link me a crash course on how to setup ipv6 without introducing any security holes into my network? Maybe also a crash course in firewalls.
I haven’t looked into this, but if it doesn’t already, Lemmy and PieFed should scrub this data before writing it to disk. Would be a lot easier to implement this in one place than teach everyone to scrub the data themselves. If either of them don’t do that, we should put up a feature request.
Frame rate doesn’t necessarily have to be high. Idk how the black boxes on airplanes work, but surely storage options have increased a lot since their invention, right?
I had no idea that existed but I’ve just returned from r/unixporn. There are some sick setups. Also we all copy. My entire neovim config is copied and modified from a couple dozen setups I admired. Nothing wrong with copying things you like. Don’t gate keep Linux.
Not defending this, but it’s annoying because Google and all search engines results are being poisoned by AI written slop. It seems like LLMs may provide a better search experience, but it’s also the thing ruining the search experience.
I don’t really know what I’m talking about, but I imagine if AI slop is ruining search, it will also start to ruin itself when the current slop is used to train future LLMs. Basically I think AI will short circuit itself long term.
Now, will it short circuit itself enough for Microsoft to stop shoving it down our throats, probably not.
This is very easily actionable with the links. Thanks op!
