  • Which makes Karen behaviour even worse and incomprehensible but most people are humble and don't care to much about some minor problems and a little learning curve

  • Yes, the KDE twitter account even mocked Microsoft's for some of their latest 'innovations'.

  • That's because Microsoft stole so much from KDE ^^

  • Tomb Raider because 3,60 € was a no-brainer. Ended up buying the whole series in sale...

  • If this is liftoff, this error is based on how the app handles the "All" timeline. If not otherwise set, Liftoff checks the instance you're logged in to and the preset one. So you can't interact with posts received from the latter. You either remove the other instance in the settings or atleast change your standard timeline to all/local/subscribed@

    <your instance>

    .

  • Please tell me which apps, I think I've become a Lemmy app hoarder...

  • By exclusively playing on Steam Deck there is no need to sync anything ;)

  • As far as I can tell most android Lemmy clients aren't on play store but the dev's GitHub (Liftoff, Thunder, Lemming)

  • Sounds interesting, any chance you want to share your work?

  • I prefer Liftoff at the moment for the UI similarities with Infinity for Reddit.

  • Jerboa, Thunder, Liftoff and Lemming. I don't count the PWA (mobile site) as app but otherwise I switch between five apps

  • Are there non-metric meters?

  • Had the same problem with Liftoff. It let you view other instances timeline. Switching to my instance's timeline resolved this problem for me.

  • Thank you! Didn't know about Obtanium and kept track of updates with "Change Detector" from F-Droid which caused daily false alerts. Within minutes I'm now able to conveniently keep track of six apps (including 3 Lemmy clients 😅)

  • Most probably, you're right. That sounds like something the inventor of the 1+ year long "3 day special operation" who destroyed the myth of the "second strongest army in the world" would do.

  • Yeah, I wrote this before Putin's speech.Maybe Putin plays a double game where he acted in support of a coup and now wants to remove both the MoD and Prigozhin.

  • He aims to attack the military leaders, no word about Putin. Maybe Prigoshin cooperates with Putin to remove the MoD and some oligarchs as pawn sacrifices and stop the war claiming it was their fault.

  • An immutable distro, to my understanding, locks core components of Linux (mainly /sys afaik) from interaction from not only bad actors but also the user so that you can't fuck up you're system in a way like Linus from LTT (removing X11 by forcefully ignoring all warnings). Applications can be installed as Flatpak, AppImage, Snap or through OverlayFS from regular repositories.

Advantages to (non- tech savvy) users are an additional layer against their own mistakes and easier support since the important stuff is identical on every install of the given distro.

  • They will try their best to follow the law in the most annoying way. You can do it on your own but your warranty is gone and important security features will be 'unavailable' like fingerprint on iPhones with replaced screens or the introduction of 'registered USB-C cables only'.
