My best advice is that if it seems inactive, that means you should subscribe to a bunch of stuff and switch to hot, top 6 hour and scaled. Active is the default and seems the least active.
The comments in this thread will give you a great idea on how most people act around here. Hate the idea and not the user and you should be fine.
Your "also plz be kind :D" comment tells me that you're going to go through a bit of withdrawal on the hate and drama. It's great here even even though we have a few trolls and bots.

In the deposition, Giuffre alleges that she and Dershowitz were introduced while Jeffrey Epstein trafficked her as a teenager. She alleges she and Dershowitz had sex on "at least six" occasions, saying that she couldn't count the number of times she'd met the then-Harvard law professor.
"Professor Dershowitz was around a lot and there was always young girls around a lot," Giuffre says in the deposition.
She describes several instances of engaging in sexual contact with Dershowitz, who's now 85, or when he was nearby, indicating "Dershowitz was so comfortable with the sex that was going on that on one occasion he observed me in sexual activity with Epstein."
Giuffre details in the deposition being encouraged by Epstein to engage in oral sex with Dershowitz while in a limousine, to have intercourse in a plane while traveling with another young woman who was trafficked by the financier, and at Epstein's home in his bedroom.
In addition to accusing Dershowitz of engaging in sex with her while she was between the ages of 17 and 18 years old, Giuffre also alleged in the deposition that she had seen him having sex with at least one more of Epstein's victims she suspected of being underage, a girl she identified as "blond" and "young."

Yeah, I think you're off-putting to other people. I get that you've tried stuff, but were you letting others talk? Were you obviously rolling your eyes at people? Were you shutting people down instead of keeping an open mind?

How has there not yet been a leak of the Epstein files? Surely there is someone with access to them that could have been subject to worldwide pressure to let something out.

I don't know if this is true, but I think it's because they're really old. If you look at all of the previous documents, they're photos of text, emails, and some of them books. They're not transcribed, so hard to search.

Also, you have to have levels of trust that the docs are real. These have been in a bunch of people's hands, but who do you send it too where it gets the biggest bang as being legit? NYT isn't all that trusted. Maybe The Guardian?

But then, you're also putting your own life on the line. What's Snowden or Reality up to these days? I can see why it's complicated.

For sh.itjust.works, the admin mods are always watching. The automod bot catches a lot too. I'm not sure about the other instances though. I would guess that enough reports for spam on an account would trigger the admins to see it on all the instances? Just a guess though.

For people to understand that we have to have nazis and the people in power as a common enemy. Dividing the people against them is their goal because it works.

I don't care about Schumer, I don't care about the 8 (or 9+) who sold out, we have to gather our forces and go. Also, the people who stood up to them deserve kudos. This shutdown lasted for a very long time. I appreciate all that took the hit for us.

Krita is free and awesome for that age. Maybe install it together. If you have a tablet or touch screen, it's really fun.
How familiar are you with (also free) Blender? You would have to install it and learn the basics. Just the 3d sculpting program might be a blast for him and have him edit a UV sphere. There are a few basic tips to get you going, but kids pick it up way easier than adults do.
- The object mode is for the overall, individual objects
- The edit mode is to work on, inside, the object you select
- You absolutely have to have a scroll mouse
- There is a description in the lower left corner that lets you edit the mesh you're "adding" or putting in, then it goes away. This messes up a lot of people.
- At the top are tabs that let you select a layout for Blender for each focus. There is one for sculpting.
- The upper right has a lot of icons that let you move around the program (solid, see-thru, etc., and perspective. You would have to know this stuff.

Have him search Wikipedia on something he loves and to look for the sources.
Have him look for, speed up if necessary, and learn from youtube tutorials on topics that interest him.

Side note: Affinity (photoshop alternative) just became free, but I think that's too much. Good to know about though.
