  • i'm on mint cinnamon 22 and have touchegg installed. They have this in built Gestures applet but it doesn't seem to govern the two finger scroll. Touche (separate app) seems similar - its all about 3 and 4 finger gestures. Seems like the two finger scroll is special somehow.

  • I am so close to loving libreoffice but trackpad gesture scrolling is broken and it's kind of not optional on a laptop. With a mouse, I am a big fan.

  • wow the ratio on those posts

  • Id just grow chilis and make hot sauce. Probably switch to arch and find an open source project to contribute to for scratching the tech itch.

  • Same. I didn't realise it at the time but the steam deck led to the media PC, which led to the laptop and finally the gaming rig fell. I dual booted but haven't gone back in so long i am now eyeing up the windows disks to get more space.

Today I found Organic Maps, which seems a nice FOSS alternative to Google. Freedom feels good.

  • Also curious how you did this. Seems like a big job to wipe and reinstall with btrs

  • I got an iPad, think it was second generation. That thing was fucking useless. Couldn't do anything without a subscription service. Games sucked. Couldn't sideload. Don't know what I was thinking.

A decade later I got a galaxy tablet and its one of the most useful things I've ever bought. Writing tablet in meetings. Second screen while gaming. Portable screen while training/cooking. OLED is perfect for reading comics.

Sorry I think I got distracted and missed the spirit of the question.

  • Dualboot might be good since then you can tune windows to be a dedicated gaming OS which auto launches the needed things. I went from win10 to mint and haven't booted back into windows for months.

Cant speak to VR cos I switched to a Quest when I realised all I did was play BeatSaber, and the room with my computer is not very big.

  • Tell us how you really feel

  • Cheers, have added both to my list

  • I've seen Archer far too many times. Funniest animated I've ever seen and I kinda want to watch it again. Gotta stop when the writers change at s10 tho.

Patriot is an amazing TV show that I've seen three times. It's a thriller, I guess. Quite funny but they play it straught. Reminds me of Fargo.

Edit because how on earth did I not mention True Detective season 1.

These three shows I will definitely watch again when I get time. Amazing attention to detail in each of them.

  • Gladiator (that battle tune is timeless) Gone in 60 seconds Human Traffic Snatch & Lock Stock Guardians of the Galaxy I am Sam Magnolia

    All make regular appearances.

Hotline Miami, Doom and Sim City are game OSTs that also get a lot of play time. Honourable mentions for Dark Reign, Spirit Farer and This War of Mine

  • Did this once on a router in a datacenter that was a flight away. Have remembered to set the reboot in future command since. As I typed the fatal command I remember part of my brain screaming not to hit enter as my finger approached the keyboard. 🤦‍♂️

  • Is mysql in your repolist? The second tutorial adds it; just wanted to check that it worked.

  • I only started six months ago and still consider my experience to be limited. These are just the names of some flavours of Linux, desktop environments, and display servers.

  • Can't wait for Wayland to be ready in cinnamon. Possibly mean that literally as X is a laggy mess with fractional scaling. Maybe fedora with gnome will be my first distro hop.

  • I appreciate the memes on Lemmy. Seems to be automated and they have low engagement, but it's kind of awesome to to scroll, lol at cat, and get some news.

  • 👱‍♀️

  • I won tickets from the radio to see the premiere of Seven when I was 12. Glad I saw such a high quality high impact thriller so early. Watching Pitts character struggle with his decision at the end and trying to work out if his choice was right. Or consider the possibility there was no such a thing as a right choice. Amazing experience.

That being said, I wouldn't recommend that 12 year olds go see Seven.
