  • im sorry, but the clone wars movie is rubbish and so are any of the episodes in the first few seasons that i warched.

    i dont doubt that clone wars has better episodes and arcs later on but you cant change my mind that people only like the first seasons because of nostalgia for a time when they didnt know yet whats good.

  • i think the star wars fandom is a great case study of how right poppulism works.

    star wars fans have always been hating on new stuff and in many cases the negative feelings are semi justified (looking at the prequels, clone wars, christmas special, ...)

    but blaming capitalism is complicated, and while the quality of star wars media hasnt changed much, it now has a diverse cast and scapegoating disliked minorities is easy.

    "get rid of the foreigners, get rid of jewish people, get rid of the queers, get rid of women and it will fix everything"

  • i have a vegan friend, they regularly get shit from their conservative coworkers for beig vegan. and i know they arent even doing any vegan advocacy, because they are super socually anxious. so ig your lived experience does not represent reality.

    if you cant handle harsh criticsm, fine. i personally prefer to be called out when im doing morally wrong stuff. yeah not being an asshole is better but i get it if vegans are frustrated and in the and, im the one in the wrong. their smal personal failings are nothing

  • i think the idea here is, that bottoming is like helping someone (the top) out and more selfless. you arent doing it because it feels good, but because someone else wants to penetrate something.

    i think this is an interesting idea. it seems very patriarchical. seeing bottoms (traditionally women) as passive, submisse sex object, that dont need to enjoy it. its all about the dominant tops (traditionally men).

    i think some parallels can be drawn from this incorrect image, to how healers are seen by those they heal

  • i hate how negatively vegans are seen, when in reality, they usually get shat on by meat eaters just for eating their vegan stuff and minding their own buisness.

    thats without them even saying anything about the horrors of animal agriculture and how it is bad to eat meat. if they attempt that, they already lost.

    even vegans who are behaving like assholes arent too bad imo, after all they at least have a righteous cause and are standing up against the dominant culture, that has no regard for farm animals lifes.

    i keep eating animal products just because its slightly easier or because i cant resist the slightly tastier products or because the selection is a bit bigger, despite knowing how bad that is. and i think i deserve to get shit from a vegan. after all i should do better and my excuses are nothing, if we consider what they are attempting to excuse.

  • its a different protocol. the user experienc eis similar to matrix but less polished. its a lot better with meta data and provacy tho, and more performant and less intense on servers, which i like

  • xmpp is an open direct messaging protocol, that supports decentralized servers. it can be used as a (non feature complete) alternative to discord or matrix. it was bigger in the past but then google hijacked and killed it :< but its still pretty cool and great!!
