  • SQL enjoyer?

Every time I use it I feels like I'm going back to the 90s. No variables, no functions; Oh but you can do a CTE or subquery.......👍

UNION ALL, UNION ALL, UNION ALL... "There's got to be a better way, surely..."

    looks up better way

"Oh, what the fuck?!.... Nope, this will just be quicker..." UNION ALL, UNION ALL, UNION ALL...

Join in a table sharing column names... Everything breaks. You gotta put the new prefixes in front of all the headers you called in now. In every select, in every where, etc... Which is weird because that kinda works like a variable and it's fine...

"When you see this little piece of text, it means all this, got it?"

    "Okay. Yep. Easy."

"So why can't you do that with expressions?"

    SQL SCREAMS MANICALLY

    "Okay, okay, okay!... Jesus..."

And then you try put a MAX in a where and it won't let you because you gotta pull all the maxes out in their own query, make a table, join them in, and use them like a filter...

I hate it. It has speed, when you can finally run the script, but everything up to that is so...ugh.

  • Also, be aware that if it is debit and not credit card, it can take quite a while for the hold to come off. This isn't on the gas station, it's on how quickly your bank handles them. My bank it's around 2-3 business days, but I know some it can be up to four weeks. Granted, this is my experiences in Asia and around Europe, but wouldn't be surprised if it's the same in the US.

If you think that's the case, confirm with your bank before you using it and accidentally end up with a few hundred on your account just stuck there for a while.

  • Oh yes

  • "neurodivergent" is just this era's temporary term for identifying an individual that is less in line with current social standards of "norm". Historically, more and more are socially labelled as such until the norm is the minority.

Take away the ideas of a society or even society itself and there is absolutely nothing wrong with anyone currently rocking the label. In fact theyre likely an entity that outperforms the "average" human. Combined with the species being socially competitive to get the most of things, stemming from being the most naturally persistent "be the best" nature that led to bring the dominant species, those of a more "traditional" social bound come up with these terms in fear of their irrelevance or being devalued.

Don't acknowledge the label. Just be you. The label is an artificial social problem of other's and has nothing to do with you and your existence.

  • Actually, most of the fauna isn't going to kill you and those that can, good luck coming across one that isn't running away.

Meanwhile in North America, many, many, many things that'll hunt you and start eating you alive...

  • Use it all the time (UHF). But only get comms on other off-roaders, all the trucks, or caravamers. It's very useful. I give out handhelds to friends if we're travelling together.Honestly, phones are pretty shit in comparison.

I'm glad it's not popular for other drivers, though. One of the main benefits is most people don't use it, so the bands don't get clogged with shit.

  • And somehow crawling is silent mode.

  • Restart to find out.

    "Couldn't reboot because these programs"

    9 of them

    "Restart anyway?"

  • For sure! I'm pro-abortion so I'm sure as heck pro-auction. The birth having already happened is just a minor detail.

Besides, if a kid's parents don't want them, I'm sure that man in the nice blackout van will give them a much better childhood.

  • Don't do drugs, kids.

    Well, not this many.

  • I mean, if you're not looking at just coding, Tyler bringing us Schedule 1 was pretty bad ass in many ways.

  • One of the reasons I switched was just being sick of dealing with Windows issues, the time spent troubleshooting, having to constantly tinker. And despite all the users out there, the frequency of hitting a dead end and just having to deal with it was common enough.

So after yet another Windows-fuelled rage and four glasses of wine, "Fuck it! I'll see what everyone's raving about..."

    An hour later...

  • Technically it's true. There's a high chance bits and pieces of you have been used in other life several times, though you were more likely parts of plants than other creatures.

And when you die, you'll be reused again. Nature has always been like that.

  • Yeah. Few times a week I go to mine to chat with all the locals over two or three beers then head home. It's a nice way to wind down, be out, and socialise at a really low intensity. No organising is needed, just arrive and there'll be someone there you know.

That was kind of the point of pubs (public house). A place for the community to meet up in any weather and have a good time together whether games, sharing stories, or having a meal. The smaller the town, the friendlier and more tight the patrons are too. Also great places to frequent when travelling, meeting new locals, getting great travel advice, making friends for the few days you're there.

  • I believe so, yes?

  • Take away your opinion, and then there is taken away the complaint, 'I have been harmed.' Take away the complaint, 'I have been harmed,' and the harm is taken away.

A person being offended by someone ghosting them is entirely up to that person. Coincidentally the kind of characteristic that some people rather ghost.

  • There's a lot of dim people here. Myself included.

  • I really appreciate Commander Shepard (whoever the male is) when you select renegade options only. The voice lets out stoic, brazen, unfiltered bullshit that somehow fits in with everything going on. It's like the serious version of Zapp Brannigan. I wouldn't be surprised if Seth Green (Joker) influenced it and how to deliver it.

Also, John Marsden in RDR1. If you're not American and know little about their Wild West era, that voice delivery is such a big layer of immersion, whereas other voice acting can really disconnect you from the experience. It being the voice of you helps with feeling like a part of the world. Like compare that to the cowboy from Octopath 🤢

I also really enjoyed a lot of the voices from KCD2. Rosa and Hans are excellent.

  • Financially protects her employer. The police can bust someone, but it won't get the money back. So it works two-fold. Makes trying to rip people off seem less enticing because the risks of being caught are higher than what the government can handle, this in turn also reduces financial risks for her employer too. So she's a sought after security investment that also gets to help everyday people too.

Best way to describe it, "whitehat". Maybe grey t times... Something cybersec actually pays well for now where it used to just be a good ethics hobby.

  • They were in an X-Files episode where someone was robbed/killed for them. S6E10, "Tithonus". But, yeah, fad didn't last long because they quickly became a bit of a "what a loser" item, even for us that were kids at the time.
