I mod a worryingly growing list of communities. Ask away if you have any questions or issues with any of the communities.

I also run the hobby and nerd interest website scratch-that.org.

  • I saw the button to fold yours but didn't see a seam, so didn't know if it was just fixed with some cosmetics. I really like bringing the stock in both for close quarters and even for being in the woods to very easily get behind the scope while wearing a mask.

I have a friend who got an MP5K and it is even better in close quarters.

  • It is a CYMA. In retrospect, I think a railed grip like yours would have been more practical than my SD, but I do like being able to fully collapse the stock.

If I can be a spoilsport, please, please don't use lasers. Lasers introduce real world eye safety hazards, some more than others, but none of them are great. Especially cheapo lasers from aliexpress or wherever can sometimes be stronger than listed because neither the buyers or sellers tend to care. My laserbox is fake and is only an external battery compartment for the gun.

  • How is the scope working out? I assume it's a 3x or 4x non-illuminated meant for a .22lr?

I've been doing well with a cheapo Monstrum 3x prism sight. It's got an illuminated reticle making its usable enough at close quarters while being handy for primarily outdoor play.

  • I think the best solution would be to replace the scope rings with raised Picatinny compatible rings. That removes the need for the intermediate adaptors at all. With new rings you can attach straight to the claw mount. Something like this.

The other solution would be trying to hunt down a non-Picatinny riser which is probably going to be more of a hassle, and the new setup would be better anyway. Costwise I doubt you've save much trying to save that broken adaptor, or at least enough not to use the opportunity to streamline the setup.

Locktite on the next set of rings.

  • While Europeans measure in meters, Americans measure in feet.

  • Riverdale actually did what I've always wished for a boring failure of a show to do, and just completely go nuts.

Oh our boring high school drama show is slumping? How about an organ stealing cult, a superhero, and a guy escaping from the cops in a rocketship!

  • It's very satisfying. You get a proper ending that's bittersweet.

  • These days shows have to justify themselves right out of the gate.

I miss mid-budget live action scifi shows with strong enough episodic elements that I can actually remember individual episodes. These days seemingly every show feels like an 8-12 movie that blurs together.

Star Trek Strange New Worlds is the closest current thing to an exception. Before that The Orville.

Most other scifi that comes out has to be an "event".

  • Friends or Frasier camp, and never the twain shall meet.

  • Firefly's biggest weakness/strength is the dialog. It was wholly done in the Joss Whedon style and cadence. Every member of the main cast was "the snarky one", every conversation was a series of verbal setups- and if it was against antagonists they'd be completely witless and walk into verbal traps, and every classic verbal trope would be lampshaded.

If you've watched enough of his previous shows it is very easy to predict how a conversation in Firefly will sound.

Back in the day that style of dialog was still somewhat novel, especially to people who weren't big Buffy/Angel fans. Nowadays this is the baseline MCU style of dialog, which means it is absolutely played out.

  • My Hero Academia

I really enjoyed this, but one day I kind of just stopped watching. I think I get bored with anime shows that are set up to go on and on with endless hundred episode arcs.

    Stranger Things

The first season really felt like something the creators had been developing for years as a creative idea. The ending with a sandwich left for Eleven was just the right amount of ambiguous to end off the story. The second season felt like a rushed idea pumped out when offered more money where the creators just leaned into full 80s nostalgia by copying ALIENS rather than forging something 80s inspired but unique like the first season.

    Friends

I don't get it either. It's just vapid interpersonal dynamics comedy. I've watched a little and it has the wide and low appeal, it never did anything interesting.

  • I was completely hooked until a major moment in season 2 that felt like it was going to turbo charge the story, but then the follow up episodes were just lots of doing nothing with it.

  • You can say that, and maybe it is true for the better season 1, but season 2 has the unshakable feeling of real life considerations affecting the art by having to stretch out the story.

  • OG Law & Order didn't really do that. I appreciate when the detectives would get stuck because of the 4 pixel security footage or the forensic evidence that had been trampled by an entire subway car's worth of people.

  • Sure I knew him. Or I mean we weren't close or nothin' but you know he'd been coming around to open up the same time I'd be opening the bar. We said 'Hi.' Stuff like that. He came in here a few times.

Last Friday? Yeah. Yeah he did come in. Right after I opened in fact. Real talkative too. Mentioned somethin' about the Es-er-tactic Order Of Dagon having their yearly hubbub soon. I think he was angling to get me to provide the booze. Listen, I don't care what people and human-fish hybrids do in the privacy of theys own premises, but I was raised Catholic and my ma, no way she'd ever let me bartend for one of them ceremonies. I didn't see him again after he closed out on Friday. Yeah. Yeah he did pay with gold doubloons. It's a pain to get them exchanged, but they gotta be worth more than his tab.

Now I gotta move these kegs, so if youse fine officers aren't going to order any drinks, I've got to get back to it.

  • If it's a round ball that's .68 caliber, sure. I mean it's a ball being launched.

However, are any waterballs even that size? And why? A waterball that was wet would probably jam up, so you'd end up shooting a dry one and it seems like a lot of effort to reinvent the wheel.
