Transfered from Feddit.ch as they closed up shop unfortunately.

  • Ohhh I'll have to check that out. Thanks for the tip!

  • Last I tried RHVoice is was very unnatural sounding.

Sherpa-onnx is a much much more natural option. I personally use vits-piper-en_GB-southern_english_female-medium because I thought it sounded the most natural. You can also use Glados from Portal

  • You could add addresses to Open Street Maps

  • Try CoMaps instead of Organic Maps. It's a fork because Organic Maps is starting to enshittify

  • How about using an open source and audited one with a good track record? That would most certainly be better that letting your ISP see all your traffic

  • Came here to suggest that. We need to gather sentiment

  • Mullvad, Proton, and IVPN are the most trustworthy. Not sure if the other two support port forwarding

  • Mullvad has a few obfuscation techniques with a new one that just came out. I'm curious if they'll help in this application

  • Use Ethernet on the Mint install to get internet and update the kernel to the latest 6.14. Maybe it'll then be supported

  • The inconvenience of switching and learning a new thing is the largest deterrent. People complain but don't care enough due to those reasons to switch.

I only text people on Signal, except the old grandparents or potential new friends that I will in time get to switch to Signal.

  • This is really awesome! I'm 100% going to build a little system for this.

  • I haven't played anything recently but have been enjoying watching YouTube videos on the creation and history of classic games like Donkey Kong, Roller Coaster Tycoon, and others

  • I totally disagree. I've had very very minimal issues with anything on GrapheneOS and they use Pixel hardware because they have extra hardware security chips in them

  • Have you considered changing distros?
