Just another Lemmy user, and also an idiot who accidentally wiped his Lemmy instance not once but twice. Oh well, third time's the charm.

  • You can always make relatable LOTR memes. Like if there's something thats bugging you, you could make a meme about it.

For example, have the caption "Me Trying To Make A Meme" and have a picture of Elrond smithing the sword.

Or "Me hammering a nail with my hammer from Wish.com" with an image of Gimli hitting the One Ring and breaking his Axe

  • You could say, he was in bits 😎

    I'll see myself out

  • So like LogSeq, Obsidian is a free note taking application which stores notes in Markdown format locally on your PC. Unlike LogSeq however, it is not open source and is designed more for long form text (LogSeq is more bullet points).

You can check out Obsidian here

  • Same! I've become like a walking advertisement for LogSeq at work. Its great

  • Welcome aboard

  • Ever since I discovered LogSeq and Obsidian, I stopped checking out other note-taking software

  • You can use Lutris. But if you don't want to go that way, you can simply use proton directly.

I have a script that I use on my linux machine that automatically detects an "exe" file in the same directory and runs it via proton. With that I've been able to play non-steam games easily enough.

There are plenty of tutorials online on how to run proton via CLI, here's one

EDIT: As @[email protected] said, you can also add exe files to Steam and have it run that way. Its probably the easier way compared to running it via terminal

  • Timeless classic

  • It's always easier to blame something external for all the problems (both in politics and for the individual).

"Look at all the bad stuff that X is doing to us! If we remove X, everything will be so much better!"

Same story with EU, you can look at Brexit case, seems like the majority didn't really understand all the benefits that EU brought, and instead focused on the negatives (which people tend to do). It's a shame really, all it takes is to look across the Atlantic to see what EU brought us:

    • Consumer rights (Right to repair, USB-C standard on phones)
    • Privacy and digital rights (GDPR)
    • Employment rights (Right to disconnect, employee benefits, etc)
    • Cross border trade within EU
    • Food safety standards (much stricter than US)
    • Environmental regulations

    The list keeps going

  • "My time has come ... to also sit on my own balls"

  • Its brilliant, but at times the cringe (which is intentional and part of the humor) is physically painful, especially in the first season

  • I'm checking that notification icon at every 2 minute interval at this point 😂

  • I'm the exact same!

On Reddit I would just lurk, but with Lemmy I really do want it to succeed, so I've been contributing where I can, and for whatever reason it's been mainly on lotr memes (check them out by the way, [email protected])

  • The youngest one:

  • It started with the youngest one also jumping up unprompted (with claws yes). I thought it would be kinda cool to discourage unprompted behaviour and encourage it with a command instead.

Took about a week or so? I used treats and tapped my shoulder, which is the signal to jump on.

Now, they don't need treats and just enjoy hanging out on my shoulder. The oldest one even learned to ask for it (she usually doesn't vocalize much, so when she does, its to jump onto my shoulder). She really enjoys chilling on my shoulder while I'm cooking

  • I am in this picture and I don't like it.

But actually, I've spent more time making memes than working for the past week 😂
