  • Claws also has a neat feature of supporting the super old, and I'm talking ancinet unix days old, mailbox protocol. Which has been useful because one of the tildes I'm part of only uses the mailbox protocol and thus doens't allow external mail protocols (no pop3 or ... whatever the other is.)

But wit ha bit of hackery, it can be done. All because claws supports those super old ways of doing things.

It's also my usenet reader. Again hackish and not ideal, but it works.

Sad that you can't HTML with it.

  • Auugh man I'm sorry for glossing that over. I hate being just another 'thunderbird exists' guy but given the need for HTML? Yea I'm gonna chip in on that bucket.

  • Claws Mail client. Solid, Lightweight. Doesn't have the polish thunderbird has, but also doens't have a lot of the bloat either.

  • Ask Lemmy @lemmy.world

My folks want to give ancestry.com a try what do I need to know?

  • Not gonna lie though. The honda cub looked all kinds of fun as a buzz around bike. Nothing to prove, just 'here is a little city road burner.

  • 90's teenager: Corrupt government that was a maker of cheap goods and claimed to be first in everything ever and had the most bestest smartest refined cultureal history compared to us heathen backwater westerners.

THere's reasons I struggle with looking past my own mindset whenever anything china related in the sciences pop up, as my first thought is 'is there independant verfication there to prevent it from just being government propaganda bullshit?'

....kinda like i'm having to start doing with any 'official' anything here stateside now.

  • Oh but it CAN be measured.

It is simply that value is too short for what you need it to be.

  • Man here I thought I had it bad when I ended up waking up on the couch and a brand new bag of barbeque chips was gone.

sleepwalking me needs to stop pigging out.

  • that is a fairly blunt assessment. 'Correction' is not a binary after all.

After cateracts surgery I've got 20/80 vision in my better eye. Technically both eyes.

    HOWEVER.

I have no useable depth perception. The retina on my left eye is swiss cheesed with holes and scarring from birth defects. My right retina has a major deflection in it and I 'won' the lottery in having it detatch post cateracts surgery (a nominally single digit percentage chance of happening) and thus needed further surgeries to correct.

  • Normal vision.

  • The machine spirits have been angered by your actions.

  • I'm using a desktop that's an off lease machine I bought in 2016 that was new in 2012 (haswel architecture.)

about the one thing I HAVEN'T replaced on it is the power supply and fans. It's been a pretty good box.

  • Bold of you to assume i have money.

  • ....where do I sign up for this?

  • I have three ideas. Any armchair constitutional law experts feel free to tell me why this is dumb.

1.) Term Limits for 'any and all officials elected.' Two terms each and no person who has become ineledgable for the US presidency may be vice president, speaker of the house, or otherwise within the chain of succession should the possibility of their ascending to the president be needed.

2.) Clear enforcement mechanisms if 'any government official elected or otherwise be found in violation of constitution or ammendment statuets.' As is, Trump's effectivly going 'Well I'm not obeying you. whatcha gonna DO to me?'

3.) Clear accountability proceedures for supreme court justices.

  • We are still in disagreement because you're splitting hairs to try claiming you're a good person, and I'm not.

As I said before. We are in disagreement. However I appreciate that you showed at least some of your work.

  • I've veered mostly into mutualism for awhile. Indavidualist anarchy is a sucker's game. NOBODY can do everything alone.

Building networks and community? That's just... what people do.

  • I disagree with you.

However I would like the full version of that argument. Please.

  • In my limited and personal experiane. What Trump has done has given people an OK to be their worst selves...

Some people have always been gigantic pieces of shit and just needed permission to stop being polite.
