  • The user's code is vulnerable to a buffer overflow in certain edge cases. I need to patch the vulnerability and commit the patch to the repo.

    I should rewrite the existing memmanage() function to handle these edge cases. (Silently removes all other functionality)

    I should modify garbagecollect() to detect these edge cases. I'll rename it to garbage_collector() for clarity and readability. (Renames the function, calls it no where)

    (Confidently) I modified the program as requested, the new version of your application should be more secure and handle memory issues much more efficiently.

  • For many years I've had at least one Windows machine and at least one OSX machine (and then everything else runs linux). As MS started pushing this (and as Proton and Lutris got good enough to support almost any Windows software I would need to run, mostly games) I finally made the jump to zero Windows machines about a year and a half ago.     I think if Matrix were easier to deploy, it would have a lot more adoption for this kind of thing. Once Matrix is set up and running, it runs great! Put energy toward improving Matrix deployment (and don't give me yet another ansible playbook or docker file... it should be as easy to set up on bare metal as forgejo or you're doin' it wrong) instead of building something new from scratch.

  • Somewhere in Season 3 is where I finally completely lost interest. It's been slowly coming for me for a while. It wasn't even a conscious decision, I stopped watching mid episode and haven't cared to start again. I don't even really remember what was going on (some Gorn related thing). At some point I had pulled out my phone and stopped paying attention.

    Apparently, this season seems to be controversial, some people really love it and that's great. Not here to hate on it or try to take that away from them. But I think post Discovery Trek really isn't for me and I'm just feeling done.
