  • Not exactly true for the IT field. It's almost a requirement there

  • Yeah, it's pretty trivial to do, and it's honestly surprising it took YT so long to do it.

  • Then they'd go to the bar and get wrecked.

  • There's a reason prohibition happened. Alcohol consumption back then was 3x higher than it is now, so it was not uncommon for men to get off work, go blow their paychecks at the bar, then go home and beat their wives.

  • Basic tasks like that aren't super resource heavy, so I don't think it would impact hardware requirements all that much.

Training the models is the most resource intensive part.

  • Yeah, I met my wife when I was 28 and she was 23. Maturity levels for a 5-6 gap aren't super different at that point.

But I can say that being 23 and dating an 18 year old was uncomfortable for me because of the difference in maturity.

  • Get litter mates. They teach each other to play nice so you don't have to.

  • Does your state let you add an emergency contact when you get your driver's licence?

  • It's not eugenics, but it's definitely eugenics adjacent.

  • His brother was much better at it

  • It's not at all uncommon for fines to be built into an SLA

  • How many college age kids have seen the movie, though?

  • Nah, the troll has won by living rent free in OPs head.

  • The organizations they were talking about and I was referring to have a global presence

Plus, it's not significantly more expensive to have a cold standby in a different geographic location in AWS.

  • Right, but your comments will still exist on instances that opt to store them, plus the edit history even if you deleted them.

  • The way that Lemmy works, your history could be preserved long after the instance dies.

  • These days it's not super difficult to track someone online based on writing style.

I do the same, plus strictly use a VPN and email alias, but I know that a determined enough person could track me. Although I don't delete my history on Lemmy because it's trivial to recover for someone with their own instance.
