I don't read my replies

  • Hegel remarks somewhere that all great world-historic facts and personages appear, so to speak, twice. He forgot to add: the first time as tragedy, the second time as farce.

  • The big tech boys are all founded on explosive wealth created by innovative technology. And they're all obsessed with recreating that. Capitalism demands constant growth.

So they're always in rabid competition to grow and expand while also looking for a new market to exploit.

It's also why Microsoft, Meta, and Alphabet have all been the biggest suckers for AI hype. It would be funny if they hadn't pushed the entire US economy closer to the precipice.

  • Not to mention that the prize itself was meant to whitewash the reputation of a war profiteer.

  • For heat pumps, the thing they're moving is heat.

  • The police will often inform you of warrants and arrange a time for you to surrender. These perks and more, come bundled with the Founders tier of American Justice.

  • I reject the idea that there is a correct way to read the Bible or worship Jesus. I certainly prefer liberation theology to prosperity Gospel, but I cannot say that one is doing Christianity better than the other.

I used to be Christian and I had all kinds of ideas about what was correct Christianity. I abandoned all that when I realized that those conceptions were much more about me than they were about Jesus or the Bible.

And I think that's true of the practicing faithful. Some are good, some are wicked, but the difference isn't in how they read the Bible, it's who is reading the Bible.

  • I had to switch to Linux because it wasn't presented with any option besides Microsoft when I learned how to computer.

  • I ignore videos people send to me. Back in like 2007 or something a friend discovered Youtube and sent me links for every video they enjoyed. Which would add up to hours a day. So now my policy is just to ignore. Especially crap from the socials that make you sign up/in.

Meanwhile, I'll watch video essays from creators I respect that last 1-4 hours.

  • Subscription > point of sale. It's way more profitable to be a landlord than a shop keeper. That's why everything is subscription now.

  • The problem with human rights is that they function as the justification for State violence. "We're arresting you to protect property rights". "We're invading you to free your people from oppression". I can't think of a modern conflict that doesn't have a "human rights" casus belli.

Even your comment follows the form: I can suspend human rights to protect human rights.

  • The lowest form of argument is semantics.

  • Is this not the reason the second amendment exists?

No. The second amendment exists to sell guns. All that noise about protecting from tyranny or violence is marketing to sell more guns.

  • Lot's of people would like to strip social justice from leftist ideology and only view the world in a strict Marxist sense where class divisions are the only thing. They claim that a classless society will automatically solve bigotry so we don't have to worry about that.

In reality modern racism and capitalism were born as conjoined twins and one cannot be understood without the other. Ironically, black radical thought in America has always been bifurcated and marginalized from other Marxists largely over the issue of racial capitalism. This in part explains black voter's skepticism shown toward politicians like Sanders.

  • do yourself a favor and search your laptop model with Linux install and you'll get a good idea of what to expect. There are some vendors who don't play nice with Linux.

  • Prepping is a fad popularized by the zombie movie wave of the 2000s.

99% of "societal collapse" scenarios are going to be like 1946 Germany or 1989 Soviet Union, not 28days later. And in the 1% scenarios, people who care about their loved ones should keep euthanasia supplies, not food and guns.

  • Every time I meet someone who opposes illegal immigration but claims to support legal immigration I ask one question. If the law changed so that all immigration was legal, you'd be fine with it, right?

Nobody so far has been fine with it. I conclude that the question of legality is a dodge for people who are embarrassed about their actual motives.
