  • It's kinda mainstream, but I've enjoyed Modern Family quite a bit. Sure, there is some friction, but it all works out in the end, so perhaps that fits what you're looking for.

  • There are perfectly valid reasons not to switch to Linux. Many people could switch, which is why encouraging switching is fine, but when the entire work environment is in Windows, or they need specific software that does not work properly (or at all) on Linux, fully switching is not an option. I love me a "Windows Bad, Linux Good" meme, don't get me wrong, but that is a meme at the end of the day. Reality is often much more nuanced, and this is no exception.

  • Lives, all mortal lives, expire Souls go to their doom in flame Forevermore

There are great examples in this thread of great games from years past. But from more recent games, everyone who has played BG3 to its close (or near it) will likely agree with me. It was an amazing buildup and amazing scene when it happened.

  • A bit more niche, but I'd say Roll20 for online TTRPG's. It has quirks, absolutely, but it has gotten better overall and is free with optional paid plans that offer good benefits which are not necessities.

  • For me the explanation is simple: there is no logic within religion. Note that the bible says to love one another but also says that slavery is OK and that gay men should be stoned. These things conflict with one-another; you cannot be kind if you have slaves and stone other people, and you cannot have slaves and stone people if you are kind. It is physically impossible to follow all the rules in the bible. Many of its followers do not realize this, so their critical thinking skills are either lacking or damaged from all the BibLe gOoD thumping that they received from a young age. And because their critical thinking skills are damaged, many do not realize the obvious problem with giving money when jesus was, according to the book, not condoning this.

  • A little while ago I saw what initially looked like an ambulance parked in our town square. When I came closer it turned out to be bible thumpers. The first thought that popped into my head: "last aid"

  • In the current day and age of misinformation I think donating is more important than ever. It doesn't need to be much.

  • A nice fuck you to cheaters and "hnguuu we can only prevent cheating with kernel-level invasive software" alike

  • Fedora is absolutely the better choice between those two. Much bigger community, more suited for desktop use in the first place (CentOS is more of a server OS), frequent updates, great starting point for modern hardware. You may also consider a modified one like Bazzite or Nobara if you have an nvidea GPU (because they have drivers built-in).

  • Oh yes absolutely, and the few people who have played these will likely agree:

    • What Remains of Edith Finch - Lewis and the finale always get me
    • Kentucky Route Zero - The expensive whiskey and "Then we buried the horses"
  • I bet you were pretty fucking far from OK eh?

  • I have never played, nor do I know anyone who has ever played, Raid: Shadow Legends

  • Zeg makker

  • Ah that's on me missing the clue then, apologies. Though in my defense, there are parents that do stuff like this.

  • Genuine question - why is that deemed a good answer? I'd expect an actual solution for a child to be more apropriate than humiliating an adult later in life. Like the suggestions telling to start singing it yourself, wrongly, seem much more effective and appropriate to me.

Full disclosure tho: Not a parent and no plans to ever be one

  • From the comments below, not quite what I had in mind. More of a, they see these planes flying in the sky and maybe interpret it as a sign of whatever deity/deities they worship

  • This is indeed what I had mind

There's a decent chance that one of the many uncontacted tribes has started to worship airplanes

  • Indeed, I wanted to know the keys to disable health bars and such to make the screenshot prettier. I'll try to rebind the keybind in Valheim when I have the time. Thank you!

  • I'll investigate when I get home, but yeah it might be the shaders as well
