I'm a freight conductor and yard shifts have similar times. For example, tomorrow my shift is 06:32-14:32. They never explain why, you just show up when you're told.
The annoying one starts at 23:57.

I mean yeah, that's disgusting, but why land the plane over it? It'd be one thing if it was running aisle to aisle biting people's faces, but I don't think that was the case.
