She/Her pronouns only please.

The same CounselingTechie from Solarpunk.moe.

I like to garden and try to find ways to bring joy and hope into my world.

  • Exactly! That was why I included the picture we took of the outer part to show how little light permeates out.

  • You put it best with the possibilities! I after I had commented dedicated time at my night-job to thinking about it honestly. The idea of having fountains more like this around social areas at night, the gentle light flow but also having the moisture to help cool down.

Kind of elements that the old Roman Bathhouses carried in them, but more for here.

  • Oh wow that is beautiful as a concept! The idea of fountains with lights I could see to a point in the Lunarpunk aesthetic.

  • Sadly no luck for us plant folks.

Now, if this is done in a plant that can be easily grafted onto.

  • it is something humbling to see, just like the solar eclipse. I've seen both so many times and still never can get enough of how it is. To see the moon turn blood red, and disappear, to the point you can barely see it, is horrifying to imagine. It is mesmerizing though at the same time, the wonder.

  • I finally got a few pre-ordered for this fall! Going to grow and cultivate them inside for the next year!

  • There is a florist about 200 miles from me, which is not too bad a drive for fresh and healthy plants! I have to be cautious though where I live. It gets over 100 degrees Fahrenheit during the Summer. I also may just have them inside under grow lights.

  • I want to say last year I saw an article on this and was tempted to at the time get some, and now I am learning how much more easily I could, I am getting more and more tempted.

  • Sadly moonflower as a type of morning glory has a lot of distaste amongst the community as an invasive plant, else I would recommend that as one option with making a moon garden. Jasmine flowers are similarly beautiful though being traditionally associated with the full-moon's light, and my bias towards gardenia as it is such a beautiful and potent spiritual plant.

  • The bonfire is such an amazing part of this time of year.

  • I am sorry, I am confused, is this supposed to be a poem?

  • This would be something I would love to see more places implement. Lights of a different frequency that is less destructive for wildlife, and is properly shielded to mitigate the damage. I should not be able to from 10 miles (16 Kilometers) see a massive lightshow that is the town I live in.

  • I agree there with the handmade part especially.

  • Both of what you said are good points as well. We are learning so much every day about the ocean depths, and as you said, how beautiful and commonplace bioluminescence and other forms of life exist down there.

  • That is fascinating to see actually. One of the things that I have been inspired to eventually do is set up an aquarium specifically with bioluminescent elements however I can, including the potential for those glo-fish that exist. The idea of shrimp for this would be interesting too.

  • Exactly! I will post pictures when I get them! And yeah, I am a nomadic heart, traveling is a big sign of enjoyment in my life.

  • I am excited! I was in Omaha for the 2017 Eclipse, and plan to be in Texas for this one, taking photos and enjoying the sight of it. It is a humbling sight, and from a spiritual perspective it is amazing for channeling energy through.

  • Agreed! That being said I am being peer pressured by my friend group to get it, since I am already known for being the plant person, lol.

  • I will be honest, I partially want to wait to see how it goes for others first, and then make my own purchase to see how it works for me.
