  • He's just very committed to making sure the Nazi bars have a good public image okay?

There's a huge post in their snark comm where they're spinning this as 'just a default' and he's pasting it there too lmao

  • "wow switching to piefed cured my Havana syndrome":

  • For hexbear + lemmygrad it's by default

from what I can tell, when a server is spun up there's the option to subscribe to an existing blocklist on a piefed server.

This means blocklists can propagate transitively:

If instance A blocks lemmy.ml, and instance B subscribes to A’s blocklist, and instance C subscribes to B’s blocklist, then whatever instance is blocked on A will also end up blocked on C (unless filtered out manually).

quoting the developer of piefed, hexbear and lemmygrad are blocked by default:

Hexbear and lemmygrad will always be blocked and PieFed is coded to block them by default on all new instances (admins can change it). No plans to defederate lemmy.ml as I've built mod tools that help me find the most odious users & banned them and now it's tolerable.

This is why piefed is so popular with centrist extremists.

  • I feel like the op meme would hit harder with this on the well guy

cause they're fine to push the 'lesser evil' when it means getting their preferred evil in. when it comes to opposing communism then it's suddenly purity testing is fine

  • This year has sucked but I've been keeping my shit together at least.

in-person non-electoral organizing keeps me sane

  • this is pretty spot on, bonus points for including anarchists

  • the best organizers I know do happen to be doms

  • they're actually no longer a battalion, they're now one of two corps in their national guard.

do you really need an entire rundown? it's been out in the open for well over a decade now. It's not one picture of a bunch of dudes holding up Nazi flags and doing roman salutes, it's years of them being integrated into the government that's the problem. I would love your explanation on how yiddish got restricted under the 2019 language laws along with Russian.

The use of the epithet Nazi to denote anything or anyone not associated with the Third Reich is wrong

so you have a semantic criticism?

It does not matter what I think.

    noted.

  • If the situation with the ‘Nazis’ affects you so much, what do you suggest?

the way I read your use of quotes indicates that you don't think that these guys are Nazis:

  • a big stack of blin / obviously me

  • I've been vegan foss-using anti war anarchist since high school, once I figure out what's right social pressure doesn't particularly sway me. In addition to all of the above I'm trans and still mask too.

I can't really point to anything in particular that "switched" other than legitimately not caring about fitting in.

  • agree, also I feel like out of the maoists I know they are way more likely to have colored hair than rules-based-order appreciators.

  • They're more charitable than I am, frankly.

I am Russian and the reason I don't move back is because I'm trans and have a life here in the US that I'm not looking to uproot. I'm more inclined to do organizing where I live now and I certainly don't have the resources to move back home and start from scratch there. On top of that it wouldn't gain me anything, I would be trading one set of reactionary assholes in power for another.

If life is bleak I'm going to do mutual aid and try to find like minded people to survive with, not run away.

  • Why don’t you live in China or Russia if life is so bleak in the western countries?

"if you don't like it, leave" was the sentiment, I pointed out how you sound. It sounds like something I would expect from an american chud- hence posting a shirt I thought you'd like.

  • The australian running that comm has such a predictable worldview

'left right terminology doesn't have a place' - sounds like they prefer the third position.

They're a zionist, but in the mealymouthed 'two state solution' vein, probably due to their shared experience as a colonial occupier.
