  • Either Geass from Lelouch or Makima’s control power.

  • Not true but it seems you love to go off-topic and use whataboutism and therefore I will just block you. That way I don’t have to see your pro-genocide and anti-protesting nonsense.

  • Do those protesting for Gaza also protest about Sudan, Yemen, Rohingya, West Sahara, Yezidis, Uyghurs, Christians in Nigeria, Kurds, and so on?

    Whenever I read this, I roll my eyes. This is one of the most ridiculous arguments.

    You have to start somewhere and you can’t put your focus on everything. Plus your argument is a method to move the topic to “do you/they this and this and this and that?” Instead of the actual on-topic.

    • Tell absolutely no one.
    • Helping the people who did help me when I was in need of help.
    • Live an simple, boring life.
    • Continue studying what I like (I love learning).
  • Got the AirPods Pro 1st Gen in 2019, still going strong. Usually have to recharge every 1,5-2 days and I use them pretty every day for commute from home to work and back (in total about 1,5H).

  • The hostility has been here for quite a while, though. When the migrating happened from Reddit to Lemmy it was all nice and cozy but after a year or so the hostility was already there. Very often people did not want to acknowledge this (and started to heavily downvote the particular comment stating this). Plus with what is happening* in the world, the negativity from reality seeps into the digital world.

    But anyway, the best thing to do is just block anyone who is hostile towards you for no actual reason. Has no point to put energy and/ or time in it.

  • Honestly, any “hard game”. I really love hard and challenging games but time isn’t in my favor (work, commuting and other responsibilities). So when I play a hard game (example Silksong) and I’m genuinely stuck, I’ll just use a Trainer or WeMod to get past it and after that stop using it and continue the game normally.

  • This is true, I have got that banner too but refuse to join it;

  • Wish we could upload videos, I recorded this exact same issue a few days ago with Spotify. I use a modded Spotify and curious to the updates. Thus I checked their App Store and this what’s been spammed on their App Store page;

    “We are continuously busy making Spotify much better! Don’t want to miss anything? Make sure you have automatic updates on!”

  • Let’s agree to disagree. We both have different opinions and I’m not in the mood to go over and over and over with the chats about something we won’t agree on anyway.

  • You don't need to be tech-savvy to use a social media.

    You are entirely right when it is about centralized social media (Facebook, Instagram, Reddit, Twitter and the likes).

    However, for example; Lemmy and Mastodon you at least need to be a bit tech-savvy.

    • Making account is different but then you get;

    1. The multiple instances.
    2. Multiple communities that are the same name.
    3. What is exactly decentralization.
    4. Federation.
    5. Difference instances can give different results (blocking, rules, and what you can and cannot see from other instances).
    6. How Moderation works is different than the usual platforms.
    7. Community discovery is different. Searching for something can be quite difficult on Lemmy.
    8. Lemmy’s community has a lot of tech-jargon which non-tech savvy people might find difficult to wrap their head around.
    9. How the banning system works on Lemmy is different than the usual platforms as well.
  • I don’t introduce them to Fediverse and don’t talk about it None of the people I know in real life are tech-savvy except one guy.

  • The questions reminds me of Brave New World.

  • Hope you’re doing better now.

    Yeah, definitely. Got my bachelor degree in Finance and currently having a immensely relaxing but boring job (which is alright, bit of a relax after years of studying). Just having this as my first Finance job while searching for another better one.

    Honestly though, I know it sounds really mean and rude but: I'm truly satisfied seeing them having less good than me.

    • One works at McDonalds and served my order 6 years ago and complained how he got ''fucked over'' by the teachers which he blames for not being able to continue studies.
    • One went to jail for a 6-12 months.
    • Another guy always acted smart and tried to put me down when we were 13-15. He did not entirely finished his studies, works retail and ended up jobless because the company went bankrupt (probably now having another retail job with a meh-salary).

    From what I have heard here and there many of them never got their Bachelor degree. We all come from a ''practical'' school (teenagers who could not or did not want to actually study). I worked my ass off to actually climb the ''study-stairs'' and got the Bachelor degree and might go for Masters (Chartered Controller, Public Chartered Controller or Accountancy).

    • Important note 1: I'm not saying that working in retail is bad. However, it does feel satisfying seen bullies serving my orders.
    • Important note 2: English is not my native language, so some sentences or words might be worded a bit odd.

    Growing up for me, the popular kids were actually also usually intelligent and got into good universities. So the stereotype of popular kids being dumb really doesn’t ring true everywhere.

    Unfortunately to hear, I at least hope you are also doing better now. Honestly, fuck them. They might be ''smart'' or having a 'good job' but believe me, some parts of their live are quite shit. People always try to show-off their ''good side'' and hide their bad sides.

  • No, I was not and unfortunately was often picked to be bullied until I raged and went to his throat to close it (English isn’t my native language so don’t know to explain it otherwise).

    After that no bullying but wasn’t popular either. However, fun fact; no one who was popular at that time succeeded it life. They didn’t really went far either education and some even went to jail.

    And myself? I got myself from a practical school to now having bachelor degree. So, fuck them.

  • Uh, I don’t. It’s just a phone I use. That’s it.

    Teenagers and students are just that; teenagers and students. Very often they care about ‘status symbol’ but also sometimes they don’t care.

    I would recommend to stop generalizing.

  • At least you guys won't have a nicole there.

    I forgot that person (or bot) even existed, just block the account. That’s what I did.

  • How do y’all do it?

    In a sort of similar boat in the sense of no friends, not really an active social life and for now, work means nothing but getting the money (will change in a year though when I quit for a new job). Plus having OCD and social anxiety (diagnosed by a specialist).

    I keep myself busy with things, I like: Gaming, reading books/ manga, tv shows and anime. I'm also trying to get myself into a bit of different things such as learning a language (isn't going well though) or trying to educate myself more into things I find interesting.
