  • Are you claiming that the German government is running that instance?

  • Man, seeing Germany side with genocide once again was fucking not on my bingo card.

I don't imagine things will get better under the new right-wing government either.

  • They also actively ignore those 'No licence needed' declarations, I've submitted three, two online and one by mail and they still routinely threaten to show up on my doorstep 'any day now'

Why ask me to declare it if you're going to ignore that? There's probably cause for a complaint there but I'd rather not waste the oxygen.

  • I regrettably also have this drawer.

Attempts at cleaning it usually end up with the drawer now being somewhere else, but it clings to life somehow.

I think they're just a fact of life at this point.

  • I imagine we all have different use cases, my idea of Lemmy succeeding may not be your idea.

That being said, as a replacement for Reddit, where I can scroll through the top say 50 posts once or twice a day, it absolutely fits the bill.

Engagement is much better for me here, I imagine due to the smaller size of the community, that lends itself to their being much less useless garbage comments and much more constructive or informative discussion.

The above being said, I do wish there were more people here.

  • Beast master

I was really into He-Man and honestly all things medieval so thought it'd be great for me, but that film kinda fucked me up for a while as a wee one.

  • I was born the year that the first version of Google was also born.

  • Quit smoking a few years back, that was an absolute bitch to do.

Still get the feeling every now and then, only 'relapsed' once at a funeral.

  • The amount of people I hear saying "Nitch" instead of "Neesh" when pronouncing it, blows my mind.

No idea where 'Nitch' came from, but it has never been pronounced that way.

  • Predestination

  • Unfortunately unsurprising. We currently have the perfect breeding ground for mental instability - Record high costs across the board in housing, groceries, utilities and transport. Record low wages in real terms when factoring in inflation. A government that not only doesn't give a shit about the vast majority of us, but in some cases actively advocates against us.

Anyone would be in a rough position mentally living through this.

  • If it's presented as such, then I've no issue at all. Art can be cool, AI or otherwise, and I like looking at cool things.

  • The problem I had with no man's sky is that a large amount of the out of proportion expectations were a direct result of the developers over promising, rather than consumers just being over hyped.

  • I live in Wales, lil' country next to England.

For some extra context — there is a little family run café down the road from me, that will give you a full English Breakfast for very close to that price.

  • I'm assuming we're referencing the absurd price of it? I wouldn't be caught dead paying that much for a slice of pizza and a drink.

  • Be the change! On a real note though, I feel your pain.

  • Absolutely sound logic though.

  • I only run a small community surrounding my home country, but I only plan on removing things that aren't directly related to the country or at least adjacent to. As well as anything that is largely irrelevant which I suspect of being spam.

Rest is fine, discussion is healthy. I don't need to agree with everyone, that isn't what this is about.
