  • I can understand that perspective, but I also think you're making a lot of assumptions about whether this was effective or not. Based on your original comment you don't know, so I'm just encouraging benefit of the doubt instead of shitting on things for not being perfect.

Maybe as an activist yourself you could get in touch with this organization in the post and suggest some more effective methods for what they're trying to achieve? That would be practicing what you're preaching instead of just leaving comments online. Just my 2 cents, and I wish you well.

  • I say this respectfully, but has making negative comments about people trying to do good and educate others ever improved the situation?

I think it's easy to be jaded right now, I struggle with it myself, but remember that this kind of knee jerk criticism is very deflating for some people to read. You might feel like it's an outlet for you, but it can cause others to feel hopeless and depressed.

I don't believe you want that, so I would encourage you to be more supportive of attempts at change, not just results. Changing hearts and minds is a long and imperfect process.

  • This seems like a really smart thing to do. Meet people where they are.

I also enjoy the fact that things like this probably make these massive corporate platforms sweat a little. People always find ways to subvert and I'm here for it.

  • MMOs have main quests usually

  • This is something I've wanted to see explored a lot for years. Excited to see a big studio trying it.

  • Mulled cider is way more common where I live than wine, but we're known for apples here so that's probably why.

  • Look up the guild wars 1 soundtrack. Same composer I believe.

  • It's hard to overstate how insanely fast these games get made. I have no doubt that the project managers have to cut any corner they can to meet the release schedule. Don't take this as a defense of the result, but rather a criticism of the treadmill dev cycle for these games.

  • If you ever have to open a command prompt, you've already lost them.

  • I've seen a lot of very tech savvy people still using google and chrome to this day. It's the top search engine. The majority of people use it, including pirates.

  • How much you wanna bet in around 6 months to a year there are headlines about them hiring loads of people to cleanup the mess.

  • If this starts to happen, turn it around before it slides too much and start biting from the other side instead. Usually does the trick!

  • I felt the same way. I turned it to easy mode and enjoyed the visuals and story. Good riddance to the combat frankly.

  • See, CS is too far for me. Every weapon being a nearly instakill and no respawns just isn't fun for me. I'll give it to you that it's even simpler though.

  • I don't just em dashes, I also use en dashes. Take that, robots!

  • I'm not average I'm sure, but I buy 0 games a year at full price 😅

  • They're a very pure and straightforward shooter experience with a lot of polish. I don't think it's that weird.

The level of monetization is totally unhinged at this point, but there's a good game buried underneath it all.

  • "It" 🤔

  • I believe that her arc is a conqueror's journey disguised as a hero's journey, and it was done so well that everyone felt betrayed. This thread is for hot takes, so there's mine. 😄
