  • Quantum mechanics is made up because physicist can't figure out math.

  • I don't think most people notice the performance difference when it comes to fps or even resolution unless things are stuttering or slowing down. I definitely think value is something to consider, especially because most people play games that don't require high performance.

  • I'm just saying that you can build a decent pc for $100-$300 with older components or even just use a laptop. That's why the average hardware is so much lower. The steam machine is estimated to be around $750.

  • I put together a minimum spec pc for $100, so it depends on how much better it is for me. HP Z240 office machine plus an rx480 8gb.

  • It sounds like he just needs one of these

  • After having stability issues with Ubuntu I switched to fedora. It just works. If you need to install something with the terminal just Google how to install program fedora and you'll find some simple commands to copy and paste. Just make sure you understand what you're inputting.

  • Stand up first

  • If a dog is jumping up on you then you should put your knee up and they'll stop. It's a good way to train dogs not to jump up on people.

  • I wouldn't equate installing proxmox on an old pc to open heart surgery. It's pretty basic stuff and you can follow guides on how to install services in a container or vm. People are interested in things like pihole, home assistant, arr stacks, nas, and better control over their network. It's definitely not rocket surgery.

  • You could use a math trade software. Instead of putting in items just have everyone select each other's names. Or you could just do a math trade where everyone enters an item and then everything gets randomly traded somewhat like a white elephant but anonymized.

  • I think Indiana is solidly Midwest but on Eastern time

  • Had my post removed for "off topic" in self hosting because it was about open wrt and they claimed it was a hardware question when in fact open wrt is software.

  • Came default on pixel for me. Also can't remove or move the Google search bar.

  • That first goomba in world 1-1

  • Had the same issue and it was my mouse causing the USB ports to stop working I realized that the clock was still working and it would go into hibernate. Just wouldn't respond to mouse or kb.

  • There's no reason to use leaded fuel. Lead was just used as an octane booster. People say that it helps lubricate the valves or whatever, but it's a myth. You might eventually have issues if you run e10 fuel because that stuff isn't good for fuel systems in the first place.

  • They're built so that they can't easily be repaired cheaply so that you have to buy a new one. The dealership makes all their money off of predatory financing. They pay mechanics on "flat rate" so there's a gross incentive to recommend work that isn't necessary. Then there's the insurance industry. Then of course police use minor driving infractions to hassle people and generate revenue. The whole industry could just not exist and the world would be better for it. People spend half their salary just to have a car, it's ridiculous.

  • It depends. I mod [email protected] and don't feel like I should try to steer the community in any way. I want it to grow it's own culture naturally. I'm just there to tend the garden, but I rarely have to take any actions due to the nature of the community.
