  • I played FFXI and my wife played PSO. The mathematical approach I took has helped me in other games since then but I haven’t played another MMO. We’ve talked about picking a new one to play together but haven’t yet. I am torn, I don’t want to get that far in again.

  • This is a tough one for me. I want refillable deodorant for zero waste but cannot obtain it locally. I use Wild without a subscription, just ordering a year supply once a year to minimize shipping impact. I use a single dispenser because more feels wasteful so I only use once scent at a time.

  • It varies wildly but averages somewhere between once and twice a week. We do potlucks together, meet up for MTG at each others houses and local card shops, we go to community events together, and we do Parents Nights Out to eat good food and chat. We also do kids play groups which is not explicitly for the adults but it totally is.

  • This fails to consider edge cases such as many here have brought up. The implication is that folks who choose to sleep in are less productive than folks who don’t, not that folks who must sleep later for logistical reasons such as shift work are less productive.

    So yeah this is poorly written.

  • The Transporter. Dude is a professional delivery driver for bad guys. But the music is perfect, the driving is fun, the fight scenes are creative and exciting. The love scenes suck… but all in all it was way better than I expected and is still my favorite JS movie.

  • Can disconfirm. I dive in completely, obsessing over a hobby until I meet my desired skill level, then drop it almost completely and move to the next thing. Some stuff gets rolled into my routine but I stop thinking about it at all, just following whatever skill/method I learned when I was obsessed.

    I have also figured out how to use this superpower at work to root cause problems, implement solutions that sustain themselves, and never think about it again.

    I do have a long list of hobbies I want to try, but I don’t actually try them until I finish obsessing over the last one.
