Enjoying the great vista of the Fedisphere.

  • It depends on the country, facility and age of the foetus. In a hospital setting it’s almost always medical waste as far as I know, but some people choose burial or strew the ashes in a special place after an abortion/miscarriage. If it’s a medical abortion it’s a non-issue, usually flushed.

Stem cell research is based on controlled origins, such as embryos from IVF, scientific volunteering, egg donations or similar procedures.

  • I have (had) two relatives succumb to dementia (Alzheimers) before they passed.

In one case, that person reverted back to the memories which were at the time of my early childhood. We reconnected in a way that shed off the later traumas for both of us, and while I still could not love that person, I appreciated them for who they were (or thought they were) at that time. And I could grieve their passing.

The other person was pretty much dead to everyone anyways, so yeah, once their memories were gone, they were already dead before their mortal coil passed.

  • So…

    1. Do you always have deadlines?
    2. Do you have time to have breaks (preferably with coworkers), at least two separate apart from lunch (one before lunch break and one after)?
    3. Do your coworkers always talk about work during those breaks?
    4. Bathroom breaks do not count, and you shouldn’t anyhow bother colleagues with feelings during bathroom breaks.

For 2 and 3, yes, it’s normal to talk about emotions and feelings, as long as you’re not overshadowing other peoples need to vent.

For 1, get a different job if you’re not constantly striving for heart attacks, kidney failures or brain strokes.

For 4, I was going to make a very dumb joke, but… change work place.

  • And it still isn’t.

  • No, I replied caustically at first to your last comments and then reread a lot of other comments and ops history and was disappointed in that we’ve gotten down to a Reddit level of toxicity. So I backed down and was just generally hurt at how we can be as societies. So please disregard all of this.

  • I was not aware of previous post history.

One; people doing non-damaging things to help their kids and them survive should never be shameful in any society. If it means they need to damage themselves in the process of survival for their kids there is way more wrong in their community and society than there should be.

Two; people doing fun stuff for themselves for kinks and jollies as long as it doesn’t hurt anyone or place them in weird circumstances or is like meh, let them be embarrassing.

Three; people doing weird shit that hurts their kids or other people mentally, physically or otherwise … fuck you.

Four: fuck trolls that try to justify CSAM or exposure.

  • What has that to do with left-coding. This has more to do with imprinting notions.

Edit: If she or important people around them imprinted on the kid that caring and providing for family was worse than abandoning and condemning family, then that might lead to the kid being disillusioned with the lack of support from the society. But otherwise, I surely hope that the kid was raised well enough to see that their mom did her best for them.

  • Of course they will in stable families, especially with religious upbringing, but it’s way less likely when they grow up with a single parent who has to do things they dislike to keep their kids fed and clothed.

  • Why would her son judge her negatively? Or do you mean he would appreciate how hard she works to make their life bearable?

  • Sorry, would have linked to the videos, but was out and about and I don’t like using YouTube on my phone. Glad someone else found them for you.

  • While they are technically not screen savers, Green Aqua has loads of 4K videos of their aquascaped tanks, both freshwater and salt water. They mainly donut as a bit of marketing for their store, but I suspect they get more money from their videos and workshops.

  • I’ve done this unofficial fostering myself. I make sure that I don’t claim all ”my” kids, they are still their own individuals and have all rights to connect with their families and cultures. I love my kids, both bio and not. I wouldn’t want to be without them. But I still am sure I should have had other options achieved when I was younger. So I concur with the commenter I replied to now and OP. Don’t let family pressure fuck your life up.

  • And you didn’t have a search engine at your disposal then. I had to get hold of the purity test from Usenet to understand some of the stuff in LSL.

  • A new episode of Technical Difficulty popped up a day ago or so, if you want some jokes or hijinx.

  • Had several accounts, some thrived as mods and active participants, some as mere commenters and some as mere readers. Otoh, I am still on Slashdot, Digg and other internet slush, was really sad to see bash.org go with my fun fun comments.

The internet will last. How we use it (with active, anonymous or sake accounts) continues to change.

  • And how do you propose the solution?
