I am Rooki Cookie. I am a programmer and i try to help everyone :)

  • Depends on the version of the instance you are exporting it.

    Lemmy UI:

In your settings and click "Export" on the Import / Export Settings section

Then it downloads a json containing your Blocks. It "should" be importable but i never heard any feedback about it. It can of course not block people that are in not federated instances.

  • I mean thats semi true they have less things that they sell you after a purchase of a licnese to a game. E.g. dlc's or similar. Still they can brick your system any second if they thought you inserted anything they dont like. Thats just a huge predatory step against any consumer rights.

  • (•_•)

  • I mean yes but sadly this will definitly affect others too as nowadays with globalism other companies see this and say hey people really buy any sh*t if you do it like nintendo, even cashgrabs.

  • I have lost faith in humanity. When people just keep buying scams like these they are getting just rewarded for such predatory practices.

  • For 3k€

  • Ohh yeah i have an nvidia gpu and for some games i have to switch to an oldeer/newer driver, but thats nvidia

  • The same with windows tho, you always have to find solutions.

I was on linux mint, kde plasma and another rather odd distro with a window manager. All worked out of the box. But i saw hell let loose with someone with cameras and just the cameras, the rest seemed fine and in working condition.

  • Linux Everything works out of the box in comparison to dindows ( no driver search, no go to installer page x, no installer page z, no search for updates, everything in one place ) Gets in all games 10+fps more because of reduced bloat Distro hops back and forth with no data or functionality loss and almost 1 click "restoration" of apps etc.

    Is it just me?

But i can understand if artists really need photoshop they cant do that on linux because adobe explicitly gives no f*ck about any linux compatibility.

I must say if an app doesnt work, mostly its intentionally by the devs, and that sucks. Especially on games with Kernel level spy.... i mean anti cheat.

  • This is for admins to see easier vote manipulation. I think mods can see that on their communities too.

For admins its like... they could literally just look into the database, so it doesnt make any difference. Mods in the other hand should rather not snoop around i guess.

This tool just simplifies the process instead of creating an open federated instance yourself and see the votes.

  • Yes but they dont have the "issue" with the ai and so on. I still go all in on firefox to be a REAL alternative to anything like colored chromium.

I would recommend waterfox too, it has some neat theme options. Firefox didnt shit its own base like chromium did with mv3

  • Yeah in the terms of Bullshitification, firefox is still far of any chromium stuff.

I will never forget what brave did with their crypto sh*t in their browser.

  • I still use firefox ( and any fork of it ) rather than use any differently coloured chromium ( including brave, their ceo does not have a good reputation too )

  • They work better than some posts from lemmy <-> lemmy, i get quicker responses and federation with mastodon than with lemmy. The only annoying thing is to start a conversation i and the responder need to ping us both.

  • I guess there could be just a script before deployment.

  • Comments should be removed before shipping.

  • Never allow "Send notification" permission for "Bot verification purposes". I heard a new type of fake "Captcha" where you need to execute a script ( with Windows + R and then pressing enter ) that will just execute a script and run malware.
