I fuck numbers.

  • I've already taken the RAM and SSD for my home server, but I don't think I can use much else. Not much of a hardware guy. I'll happily send it over to anyone if they paid for shipping (I'll even add some old RAM). Some screws are stripped, so the chassis doesn't close properly, but if those are replaced, it can be a perfectly usable laptop with some RAM and SSD. It'll be better than just dumping it.

  • I've thought of doing it, but the power draw wouldn't be reasonable.

  • Does Jellyfin do smart playlists yet?

Edit: There seems to be a plugin. So, now it's just about the fact that I already have it set up the way I want, and that I don't wanna put all my eggs in the same basket. But I guess using Jellyfin for music is totally viable now.

  • In fish, you can enter part of the command, and then press up to search for it. It's kinda awesome.

  • VPN should be enough. Just make sure you bind your torrent client to the VPN interface. If you want to be extra careful, use a seedbox or a debrid service.

  • Sorry, but I use my real name on GitHub.

I can say that it's not a very complex project, and I think that simplicity is probably why people like it.

  • I'm an amateur programmer at best, and the height of my programming "career" was when my friend told me their IT was using my tool internally. It has a few hundred stars on GitHub now, so not too bad. Sad thing is that I have other projects that I actually am passionate about, but they don't get much love.

  • I guess it's saying that Arch people use the AUR and PKGBUILD files. Idk exactly. It might even be a reference to the (somewhat) recent malware incident with the *-patch-bin browser packages. I must admit that I don't really find it funny. But maybe I too am missing the point here. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Anyway, in case you don't know, and wish to use Arch at some point, the content on AUR is user submitted, and hence security cannot be guaranteed. People do report malicious packages, and it's safe in general. But always read the PKGBUILD before installing anything, just in case something silly is going on.

  • I don't think it'll be ideal. Converting the mirror to z1 would be a big hassle. I don't see any migration path where I can safely lose a disk without losing data. Also, if both of the old drives fail, I lose everything.

In any case, I'm perfectly happy with 8TB for now. It's a doubling of my current capacity, of which I'm only using around 70%. I'll be fine for quite a few years.(Also, won't it be around 12 TB, and not 14.5 TB?)

  • Milk too. I only need milk for my cortados, so often end up with way too much milk. Usually end up making some milk cakes.

  • It's like the people complaining about SJWs and cancel culture. Sure, some people are annoying and use these things to harass others, but the vast majority are just normal people who care about certain things. But people on the other side, when they can't provide a good argument against them, start to vilify the people themselves. It's similar to how right wingers cry about decorum when they're more likely to vote for rapists.

I must admit that I had given into this anti-SJW hate at some point in my late teens, but I luckily realized how I was acting like a little bitch, hating on people I don't even know just because they're passionate about equality. The funny thing was, I still believed in their causes, but was pretty much brainwashed into believing that they're hurting the cause by being vocal. It's weird how dumb we often are.

  • It's not the best way though. Idk why you'd hate on someone actually providing a solution.

  • Not Coffee, we prefer cha.

  • It's the Apple way.
