UBO and custom DNS works for me in FF. Sometimes I still get blocked so off to an Invidious instance I go (and they're ad-free too) to watch whatever content I was trying to view.
ETA lots of people use DNS to proxy to Albania which yt doesn't run ads for that region, they report it works fine but I haven't tried it personally
Like most any paid VPN service they need to track bandwidth usage somewhat. They can't see what you're accessing but they can see how much of whatever it is. Windscribe also offers a free 10gb/mo plan so they do track it for that purpose as well, much like any VPN with a free tier would.

Given that all Lemmy instances are run by private individuals you should probably think about using a vpn (or dns proxy at the very least) to obfuscate your true location and data. This applies to any mainstream or corporate social media platform, obv.

Look up how IBM, Coca Cola and Volkswagen (among many, many other companies that are very much still established to this day) got their boom-times during WW2 by supporting both the allies and the fash at the same time. On Mac I've found Safari gets thru every time for some reason where chrome and Firefox do not. I might have the prevent IP tracking setting enabled or whatever but I never have to turn off my VPN (nor sign in) if the other browsers get flagged. Ymmv.
Bought this on a deep sale last summer and love it on the deck. I don't tend to play racing games much but the crazy tracks and destruction physics looked way too fun and I've played it a ton.
Use a DNS service like NextDNS or Control D and check the activity logs, block as needed. Or as others have said, UBlock has a custom rule creation feature. Use it. You select the elements you want to nuke, preview to see if it's working as intended, if it is click save rule.
