  • A red ball balancing on a white ball with a blue ball balancing on top

    Copilot's version.

  • I'd like to add to their comment. A lot of people are coming from very argumentative or abrasive communities, and sometimes their initial messaging will show that. If someone comes off way too hot headed try not to assume that they're going to end up being a troll. They might just be riled up. I've had pretty good success in asking clarifying questions to get people to explain their view rather than just come in swinging.

  • For all the left people I know, including myself, The reason we don't want a line drawn is because sometimes special circumstances arise. There may be medical complications in the third trimester that would result in the mother's death and it's not feasible to exhaustively list every scenario that could land her in this situation so it's better to just not a put a limit on it so she doesn't have some bullshit hoop to jump through later while she's dying.

That said, I don't think there's anyone genuinely arguing that people should be allowed to get abortions super late into the pregnancy just for funsies. Third trimester is the logical cut off to me, and most of the people I know agree or want it slightly shorter. We just don't want the law to specify that since it can cause legal complications. It's better that it be considered a medical standard.

  • Hi friend! Without knowing your history, what jobs you've applied for in the past. Try looking at fraud prevention jobs with credit card companies or at banks. Other companies may also have fraud departments. That's a very adjacent field for cybersecurity and would be easy to sell that experience.

  • It's a bit more involved. You need to vacuum seal your food so you have a consistent temperature across entirety of the surface. You don't really boil the water either, you have to keep it as an exact temperature and keep it circulating. That way you can cook food in seasonings and marinades to a perfect temperature then pan sear afterward for color with out losing any juices.

If you just throw food in a bag and boil it, you'll probably be disappointed with the comparison to actual sous vide cooking.

  • No, no. But they're certainly dead if they're in front of me.

  • If the vice president kills him, and they become the president. Was it an official act making them immune?

  • As an owner of a plug-in hybrid this is patently incorrect. Most electric car owners have at most of 240 volt outlet (in the US), which while can fill your battery in a few hours from home, still falls short of the half hour round trip to gas station and back. Maybe with time our infrastructure and technology will get to that point though.

  • Kerbing issue here. I keep reading Walm Art.

  • You'd have to ask 4chan, but you'll get a green text story for an answer and that too will be fake.

  • Only getting rid of half of them? /s

Ancient wisdom often sounds like common sense now that it is commomly taught. What is some ancient wisdom that we no longer teach because it was wrong?

  • For anyone thinking about listening to this podcast, it still platforms a lot of her crazy ideas. The following excerpt is from near the end of this article.

March 2023: A new podcast, The Witch Trials of J.K. Rowling, produced by Bari Weiss’s The Free Press and hosted by prominent former Westboro Baptist Church member Megan Phelps-Roper, featured interviews with Rowling. In its fifth episode, Rowling begins discussing the modern trans rights movement, calling it “a cultural movement that was illiberal in its methods and questionable in its ideas” and insisting, “I believe, absolutely, that there is something dangerous about this movement and that it must be challenged.” She then compares the movement to Death Eaters — the villainous supremacists in her books, analogous to Nazis...

  • I've definitely caught myself in the doom attitude. But I've been waiting for 30 years to for enough reinforcements to fight a winning fight against the boomers and their many terrible ideas. Here they are. Every millennial still able to fight, its back the the trenches. Our allies have the energy to push our fight through the doom, millennials and gen z together.

(And a huge thank you to the few boomers fighting along side us.)

  • Help button should be greyed out. It is what it is, because there's nothing to be done. If help was available then it isn't what it will be yet.

  • That was a hell of a journey. Didn't think I would need a hiking stick to read a comment but here we are, my knees are tired.

  • I'm worried the bright future will start right as the last humans die....

  • Hi Cake! I think I know exactly what you're going through and I'd like to see if I can help you with some ideas. What habits and rituals do you already do? Starting a daily face wash and skin moisturizer helped me a lot. Do you work out at all?
