Leftist with an incorrigible love for fancy aesthetics (mostly Renaissance Italy/Victorian England) that might be incorrectly read as a monarchist because of that.

Unicorn, but also occasionally gryphon.

  • The Warp from Warhammer is real. Every mind in the universe is linked in an invisible, non-physical way, and the collective vibes of those minds feed back into the physical world, creating a loop where everything people believe slowly becomes more 'true'.

  • glad to help m9

  • Depends

First see it? I must have been eeeeh six. Saw the word in Civilization: Call to Power

COMPREHEND it? 12 years old at history class.

  • Sorry for your loss, mate

And thanks for the advice. Even if right now I want to make sad animal noises at the idea of "just doing it".

  • It's been about 5 months, idk if that counts as 'recently' (but I'm also VERY nd, so maybe you got a point :p)

  • No Stupid Questions @lemmy.world

How do you beat post-work floppiness?

  • Sorry, not convinced. Wait, not sorry either.

All the most terrible christians I have ever had the displeasure of interacting with were Protestants, whereas Catholics are just sorta there, honestly. (and I won't comment on Orthodoxy because it's too foreign. Like they might be terrible or amazing, I just never interacted with them, not a thing in my neck of the woods at all)

It is Evangelical Churches boosting fascist candidates in the US and my own country of Brazil.

If people want to convince me that Protestantism ISN'T authoritarian ultracapitalism in Church Clothes, they'll have to show me something that stands stronger than the entirety of the past 10 years

Trump, Bolsonaro, all boosted by Protestants.

  • I can guarantee you that all protestants here in Brazil are like that.

In fact when you consider that protestantism started as a defence of capitalism when the Catholic Church was condemning it -- It's hard to believe the faith isn't that at its core.

  • Protestantism.

Protestantism is Christianity but Jesus is Replaced with Capitalism. If you're rich, God has chosen you. If you're poor you have definitely committed every sin.

To help the poor is therefore a betrayal of God.

  • Not worrying about money or visa?

.... Like. Tierra del Fuego. Or one of those remote areas of Canada/Alaska

Basically a cold, cold place that rarely sees heat. I detest heat.

  • I loved school uniforms as a deeply autistic young man who really, REALLY struggled with all the silent peer pressures of fashion.

There was an outfit I could wear without half a thought every day and no one cared.

  • No, propaganda would convince them standing together is 'removed'.

Also bots would insta-win any auctions by outbidding any human beings.

  • they're the same picture.

  • Gay nerds.

  • All of them.

My most radical opinion is that every story ever created should be made to end. And continuing any story past a well-made ending is a crime against storytelling.

We should have a law where sequelising a story that already reached a satisfying end incurs fines that quickly escalate into insane amounts of money. Redirect that dosh into funding actual original art.

  • read this in castlevania dracula voice

    • Digimon Adventure (1998) -- Contains: Divorced parents who deeply love their children and are willing to put their differences aside for their sake, adopted son learning that his parents really love him and that he really loves them, cool older brother who tells overly-pressured kid to stop trying to meet expectations and go do what makes him happy. (also -- Kaiju fights, of course) -- Plus, christmas miracle, ALL the family members are alive at the end!

If you're willing to tank a whole heap of tragedy around the wholesomeness --

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brothehood (and the Manga. Actually I prefer the Manga) is a classic about a pair of brothers who face many difficulties together. It's really sweet how much they protect each other. Shout out also to their not-sister-childhood-friend for being an honorary third sibling. Then there's their father, absentee for most of the show, but once he appears he's fully ready to sacrifice himself for their sake and all that.

  • Enderal was already mentioned so I'll say Project Brutality

It turns ol' Doom into a totally new (and so over the top that you can't help but love it) game

  • Pulsar edit was the one I tried.
