  • Yeah, why do you buy things if you're against capitalism? Checkmate.

  • The Alan Carr book. I was a heavy smoker lol, it really works.

  • Fair enough, these are interesting points. I pay for ssd storage and host Nextcloud on it. It use to be quite sluggish but nowadays it's fast enough for my needs so I don't really see any reason to change. I use the office suite, the rss feed reader, memories to sync my pictures, task, and quite a few things actually. I dont need talk much for now but I might. So yeah, it really suite my needs for now.

  • What's wrong with Nextcloud? It's not as snappy as google drive but it's fine for small organisation IMO. I personally really enjoy it.

  • Unless we see another event like covid, it's 110% sure pedonald will want to play with his war toys before the next "election" (that he'll win with Putin like percentage). Pretty sure he will try something on Canada soon enough, and pretty much any other countries than Russia are potential target. In my dystopic scenarios, the billionaire elite is ready to solve the climate crisis by whipping 80% of the earth's population, AI and automation are almost ready, they just need a couple million slaves to work and entertain them (how do you feel powerful without people to fear you?).

  • In the 90s, as a kid in Quebec, I thought racism, sexism, homophobia were all things of the past. Boy was I naive.

  • Europeans are pretty active on this mater. I'm always amaze by how much people go to bistro bin France and Belgium. I think this applies to pub in England too. In Quebec, I think it was morr common in the 60, 70 and earlier and fade away with the importance TV and later the Internet took in people's home. Now when I go back to some small cities that use to have pretty active downtowns in the late 90s and 200Os, it's absolutely dead. The only bars that survive have a crowd of people in their 40s and more. It use be full of young people, but now I guess they just "flix and chill'...

  • My main machines are on Linux (I'm on Nobara btw). This old computer store hundreds of old audio and video projects that would not work on Linux. So it's either win 10 or the infamous win 11.... I think I'll take my chance with win 10.

  • I personally never had a single issue with it, speed, reliability etc. It integrates in FF and has standalone app for macOS, linux, win. android, but I remember reading some mixed reviews too.

  • I try to find the worst cherry pie in town. I go back 24 hours and hope its now the best cherry pie in town or something.

  • I got surfshark for 2 years and gave it to all my relatives, it as unlimited machines.

  • The comments here are full of dicks.

  • I cant imagine my childhood baths without that little guy to play with. Peekaboo!

  • What can happen if I just keep my old pc on win 10 without the security updates. I mean, it's just a basic steaming / gaming and project archive computer. I already have backup of the important stuff.

  • Ir's a new world, designed for and by rich people. They plan to replace most of us with AI and automation, and want us to fight each to the death until 70% of the population is gone.

  • I work in a technology field and I'm interested in "not AI" stuff. It's a wild ride.

  • All the time! Not bad for a 1983 protocol.
