Sad Trombone: Access to Lemmy.zip Restricted for UK Users
Due to the United Kingdom’s Online Safety Act, users from the UK can no longer access Lemmy.zip.
I assume it's "Sending all the foreigners back to where they came from" (even if they came from the US). Anyone who doesn't look, think, act or speak like them have to go so they can live in the utopia they think it will be once they've all gone.
Not going to lie, but this is where the seed of this question came from but didn't want to launch into an end-of-times discussion too fully and not get a well-rounded conversation going which it seems to have done and given me some interesting answers but it seems that you've connected the dots. This certianly is a worrying time based on this.
That was part of what I was asking - I don't know enough about how this all works in the US. So an EO could mandate it, but he'd need it to be aproved by a judge?
Realised I was signed up to lemmy.world so I'll sue that for a bit and see how it goes.
