  • This is the greatest comment thread that I'm reading in my life.

  • I'm not gonna lie, I was hyped since the announcement, and the love for this device hasn't died down.

I'm not a big gamer nor do I play on portable consoles, but the idea of an accessible portable console running a linux distro was amazing to me.

  • nvidia gpu, my fastfetch info is posted in the post's body: GPU 1: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Mobile [Discrete]

Also, did you try the LD_PRELOAD="" %COMMAND% mentioned in the post? This solved the issue for me.

  • A paid linux version for personal use? Which distro are you using? Get a popular free distro like mint.

  • I don't know how to react to this

  • I'll try it later and see if it fixes, thank you.

Also, thanks @[email protected] as well for this tip.

  • Just got the bug to appear again. Plasma monitor shows 8.1/15.4GB of ram being used, but nvtop shows 100% GPU memory being used.

If the LD_PRELOAD="" command doesn't work, I'll see what I can do about the vram usage.

  • since it looks like you’re running on battery

Sorry for that, I ran fastfetch when I wasn't playing, but I always play using the charger. My laptop decreases it's performance when on battery, but it doesn't wait for low battery to decrease, it's instantaneous.

  • By disabling the ac syndicate overlay you mean the ubisoft one?

  • No. That's a good idea, I'll start doing it.

  • Linux Gaming @lemmy.ml

After 45 minutes to 1 hour playing, some games lag like a slideshow when I move the camera. It only fixes when I close the game and open it again.

  • cartoon? Anubis? What?

(I've never used an iPhone in my life)

  • This comment seems interesting, it was first question that popped into my head:

  • can you post a screenshot then? Your post only has the title, people don't have much to discuss if there's only the title available.

  • do you have a link or a source for this?

  • That's odd, I remember using Debian 12 without this issue when it was released, I later switched to an Arch based distro (Endeavour OS) to experiment with how it would run games (they ran better, I think some games were freezing on Debian 12 stable).

I can't say anything about Fedora, never used it.

Do you have more information about the specific driver you installed on Debian 12 and Fedora 42? Like the version number? Maybe the neofetch result of your computer specs too.

Sorry for not being able to give more details.

  • this is so sad, I'm gonna pray for you in rust

  • I'm already writing my own dependency to check if a number is even:

if (number == 0) return true
if (number == 1) return false
if (number == 2) return true
if (number == 3) return false

    I'm almost there!
