  • Do languages that use non-Latin alphabets (Asian, Cyrillic, Greek, Hebrew) have upper and lower case letters? What about serif or sans-serif? How do they show emphasis?

    It does have a character that essentially means duplicate the previous word which is a common way to pluralize or emphasize:

    Child = เด็ก “dèk”Children = เด็กเด็ก or เด็กๆ “dèkdèk”

    Pretty = งาม “ngaam”Pretty! = งามงาม or งามๆ “ngaamngaam”

  • Oh - a new range is on the horizon, I didn’t realize they had convection/airfry drawers though. I assumed I’d have to spring for one of those fancy split oven options to not have to heat the whole thing up. I’ll definitely keep an eye out. Thanks!

  • Yeah - I’ve seen some higher-end “speed oven” versions of the low end “over the range” type I had in mind. At the price they’re asking for the high end ones I’m gonna assume they must work 😅

  • I mean I guess as long as the microwave part is no worse than the (mediocre) one it’s replacing, it’s a net gain.

    Sounds like it might be a valid option as long as my oven expectations aren’t to high

  • Yeah - it’s a space and efficiency thing for me. I don’t have the counter space for a dedicated air fryer and I also don’t want to use a whole ass oven in the summer, but a small convection oven would be great. For as little as we use the microwave, I’d probably be fine with a “over the range” option as long as it as the ventilation built in like the microwaves do.

    I was NOT expecting you to state the defining characteristics of Fascism that Trump is most plainly exhibiting and then deny he’s doing them.

    Part of the reason I asked is because I want to get to this point so badly but my brain just freezes whenever I’m unsure of everyone in the audience’s understanding of both languages😣🫣

  • That’s a great way to put it, though sometimes I run into situations where I know some of my audience will understand language A and not B and some will understand B but not A.

    I always end up just freezing; it’s like my brain is rebooting or something.

  • “Trainer” probably would work just fine in US English but I can see what it wouldn’t with British English. Of course that only makes things more complicated…

    “Handy” definitely does not work in U.S. English especially using it as a noun

    I have a guess but those are usually way off when it comes to French pronunciations
