Pronouns: he/him/his

  • 😅 I knew that! 😅

  • Why two? Depends on the mouse. ~Probably wireless, and~ you use one until it dies and then switch to your backup while the other charges (e.g. Apple’s Magic Mouse).

Edit: I am so effing stupid. 😂

  • It’s called a euphemism. We all know that a vegan is someone who does not use animal products (e.g. meat, eggs, dairy, leather, etc). By using AI in front of the term vegan, OP intimates that they do not use AI products.

I suspect you’re smart enough to know this, but for some reason you’re being willfully obtuse.

    Then again, maybe not. 🤷‍♂️

  • In my area, there are special schools dedicated to hosting expelled kids. It most certainly makes things worse and not better.

  • Oh! Ok. I was under the impression the verbiage had the word Reject in it somewhere; that’s on me. It makes much more sense now, and I get what you’re saying. Thanks for the clarification!

  • I personally have never seen a pay to reject. What types of websites have you come across that do that? I’m genuinely curious.

  • Nothing will get better.

  • When I see these generation-hating comments — specifically older generations hating on something the younger generations do — I can’t help but think about whose fault it is for whatever slight the older generation feels.

Who created digital clocks? Who created iPads and iPhones? Who created video games? Every single generation has their own slang that each previous generation fails to understand (not because it doesn’t make sense, but because the previous generations are too lazy and/or stubborn to learn).

  • Ironic given the community you’re posting to, and its own rules. But 🤷‍♂️.

  • I can’t help but feel Douglas was poking fun at himself, considering how his editors had to lock him in a room to finish So Long, And Thanks For All The Fish.

  • Go on dates. Get to know her. Talk to each other daily. Be patient and respectful. Admit your mistakes and work to correct them. Learn from them. Include her in your decision making. Find things that you two can do together as a couple (preferably that you both enjoy). Find things that you two can do separately of each other (take time for yourselves). Relax. Breath. Hold hands (when appropriate). Compliment each other daily. And do it all because you want to, not because you have to.

  • Yes. Correct.

  • Hey, maybe they enjoy the bone-jarring slam that happens in the middle of the night when the seat slips out of their hand and slams down like the asteroid that killed the dinosaurs.

Who are we to judge? 🤣

  • It literally crumbled under the weight! 🤣

  • My son (10) sounds a lot like your son, and in my experience my son has gotten so much better with consistent encouragement and discussion around his emotions and social expectations (e.g. it’s okay to feel upset and/or disappointed, but it’s not okay to have outbursts because of the feelings, and there are better ways to express those strong emotions). I’ve also (single dad, so I don’t always know what mom does with him) grown to taking real life situations (i.e. when I get upset, or we’re watching TV and something happens on the show that has happened to him before) and having impromptu conversations. I genuinely feel these help more because he’s more receptive and not already upset; because when he’s upset he doesn’t want to listen to anything that anyone has to say at that point.

It can be frustrating as a parent to have to keep reiterating the same messages over and over again, but I can assure you that when he gets it on his own, the pride you will feel for him will make it all worth it.

Keep it up dad! You and mom got this!

  • We shall see. I have yet to go back to the store.

  • I had an argument earlier with my son (it was about raking leaves, so nothing genuinely bad), and a few minutes ago my son blew up at his brother and got upset all over again when I confronted him. So we went to his room to talk, and I asked him what was upsetting him so much. He told me he thought I hated him because I was yelling at him earlier.

Long story short, I told him I wasn’t yelling at him per se; I had to yell because I wanted to be heard over the loud leaf blower. Also, I made sure to reinforce with him that there is nothing he could say, do, or become that would ever make me hate him.

So, while I get how it can be confusing to know that your dad is homophobic, I can also understand why he said what he said; because Im a dad, and (homophobia aside) I feel the exact same way. I put my kids far above my own beliefs, because I fucking love them.

If/when you ever decide to have children, I have no doubt that it’ll make perfect sense to you too. It’s a parent thing. 😊

Also, kudos to your dad for taking this approach and not copping out and disowning you. That’s huge.

  • Thank you for confirming what I said. 😊
