  • yeah that is confusing - I realized later that it is also what happens when you go into data saving mode, no artwork. That is why I suggested looking at the settings. Glad you figured it out. We will need to make the cache better and clearly. I, for one, want to cache everything and store everything locally, however, there is a performance aspect that is generally the challenge.

  • Open a ticket up and post a screenshot, that is indeed weird. What back end are you using and how do you tag your metadata? There are some settings regarding artwork and sizing along with mobile/wifi settings that could possibly affect it.

  • What you prefer to see? I don't want to be annoying, just share updates as it seems each time I post, new people discover the app for the first time or realize the original repo is no longer updating.

    I did not see any policy regarding release dumping but I do appreciate the fact that my post could have a lot more context. So thanks for that regardless.

  • feishin is really nice. I use my regular back end (LMS) when not using the app though. Not quite as pretty but very solid.

  • yup, the green is the icon in the izzyOnDroid repo (degoogled) and the red all the way through contains the google libraries. I kept the same convention that tempo was using before.

    We will be doing a icon redesign soon and may change it a up a bit.

  • Sweet, yeah I loved tempo, just wasn't getting updates or making any progress so decided to stop waiting and fork it, eventually rebrand in order to get back into repos. Seems like a lot of people still use tempo and are filing bugs but no one is over there. I do go back over to post about a bug fix or let them know.

  • The last release from tempo was Dec 2024. The last commit was I'm Jan 2025 for a grade version bump.

    Started with a fork and merged outstanding prs and have been addressing as many bugs that I can as well as adding features.

    I loved tempo so I didn't want to let it die, it just needed to keep moving forward.

  • Hi @[email protected] yes it is active. Your backend has to support it and it is loaded from there.

    My backend does not support it so I can't walk you through it. Probably something we should add to the documentation.

  • yeah for sure! oh man, I was using subtracks for a bit as well, that was a great and i had even forked it and was trying to compile that codebase - in the end I went with tempo because it was further along in the dev process and my time is limited.

  • Sweet! The app has a lot of small, very annoying bugs. Still my fave, I just got tired of waiting for updates and did not want to see it go by the wayside.

    Yup, no commits since Dec 2024, or much of any activity. I opened a discussion but never got a response. I did track him down, (i think its him) on linkedin to ask for repo rights when I first got started but then decided I was a little too stalking and didn't want to invade his space, so figured I just fork it and keep going. My hope is that he is doing well and it looks like he started a small android app biz and it's doing well.

  • Thanks, got a lot of community effort this time round. The album track list was something we introduced in the last release, 4.1.0, that caused albums to display multi disc tracks all goofy, screenshots -> https://github.com/eddyizm/tempus/issues/234

    It was in effort to improve performance and deal with lag/large libraries. We will have to go back and figure it out.

    I believe there is a ticket for what you are describing?

  • I have fixed a bunch of bugs/crashes but there are more as we peel back the layers as we also start to add new features.

    Depending on which version of Tempo you switched it, most things would be the same as I had forked it at 3.9 and started my releases at 3.10 I love listenbrainz! Playlists still need work. the only format I've seen consistent issues is wma (i know i have some old files I had to replace)

  • Hi Sips, The playlists don't show up by default when you select that flag - (this is confusing i know) But you have to go to the playlist -select the option to ADD TO HOME, Then it will show up on your home if that part is enabled.

    There are issues with playlists in general and inparticular with the home location, if you see the issues there are some open ones intend to get to soon but there is a playlist revamp that is needed so there is that.
