  • librewolf is love, librewolf is life

  • :-/

  • I wonder if the fact that human civilization has lasted and flourished for so long is just a stroke of luck then.....

  • But the self-interest argument falls apart when you look at it from a cost/benefit standpoint.

I agree, and this is a much better way to define "self interest" too.

  • Asklemmy @lemmy.ml

Do you believe that most people act according to their own self-interest? Is acting only according to your self-interest a good strategy in life?

  • I mean not exactly, vim is just one part of it when your whole OS is the IDE.

  • Asklemmy @lemmy.ml

What is the best way to learn a new language as an adult?

  • I agree, I won't argue against their usefulness. I just meant disabling them for myself personally. I used to tend to judge posts and comments from their upvote/downvote scores rather than their actual content, now I can see them for what they are, in my eyes. I found that pretty cool and refreshing.

  • You Should Know @lemmy.world

YSK: You can disable scores (upvotes and downvotes) in lemmy, and I think it's great!

  • Yeah, Fedora is a really sane and stable distro in my experience. It supports almost everything that can be supported, I have never had to hunt down fixes for malfunctioning hardware.

Whenever I have to install linux somewhere, it's either Fedora or Debian depending on how often I want to open the machine. I'm already used to both the distros and their package managers, and both always "just work" for my purposes.

  • PipePipe works perfectly for me with a VPN. FreeTube also works, but I have to change the VPN server once in a while.

    If all else fails, yt-dlp.

  • i3 can also drag and drop to tile, iirc.
