  • Most oxygen produced on earth and CO2 consumed is done by algae.

Thats more because of total biomass, and the difference is we're basically a ball of water.

  • Prebuilts have become about the only way to get a deal for a while now.

  • Whatevere, whatever, if closeness to platfroms my and languages, their AI pick, are a statement

    We're cooked...

  • The really weird one is shellfish.

Shellfish allergy is a big deal, And prior to refrigeration it wasn't a common food unless right near da beach.

So people could not try it till they were adults, and just keel over on the spot. But since shellfish allergy is weirdly genetic, the populations most at risk for it now, are the ones who spent centuries avoiding it. Because everyone else kept losing at least some of the people who were allergic

  • or there are common bits of wisdom in most religions and there may be something to that.

The entire point of religion is to make important rules followed.

When a food is banned, it's because that food was killing people when the rules were written. Abrahamic religions don't like sex that doesn't make babies, because they all start as persecuted cults by the main branches and the fastest way to grow is to have kids born into it.

It's obviously all outdated, but it boils down to how you'd convince a kid not to do something when you can't watch them 24/7: follow the rules or Santa will find out.

Like there's always jokes about Jewish Sabbath, but honesty that was just the equivalent to modern union mandated lunch breaks. The only way to guarantee a day off back in the day, was to explicitly outlaw doing anything. Pretty much all anyone in the household could do was just relax and hang out together.

Like I said, it's all way outdated. But every time you try something new suddenly the ATF starts hanging around...

  • No one is upset, were disappointed.

    That's all it is, pity.

  • It's 2025, and people still using "just a joke bro"?

Like, we all just like ved thru that and then the very obvious and foreseeable revelation that it wasn't a fucking joke.

So maybe, just maybe, basic decency is a thing, and we shouldn't dehumanize people?

Especially not for being interesting enough to for a self-absorbed stranger who's brain is rotted from being raised by YouTube and needs real life dialed up to 11.

  • Because there's less companies making media...

30 studios will all want to have the blockbuster game of the year, then 2-3 others to be safe.

3 studios want the same thing, but that's a tenth of the games.

Plus to make it even worse rather than a game being a one off sale, maybe some dlc, they want "live service" where people keep buying cosmetics. The studios don't want people buying a bunch of games, they want you playing their flagship and only flagship.

It's less that the biggest studios but up smaller for talent, IP, or anything. They're buying them up to shit them down to squash competition. That's why we're seeing it all over. Why bother making good media, when they can just make sure theirs is the only option?

  • i'm talking about people i'm interacting with face to face, having a conversation with.

    Fucking obviously...

Wonder how much longer till you realize a 5 minute conservation with someone who's only interacting with you as part of their job, isn't enough to truly know the depths of their personality?

What is so special about you that requires everyone's effort to cultivate superficial differences?

Even from this short exchange, I can assure you if it was face to face I would be monotone and put zero effort into the conversation. Not because I'm a fucking NPC, but because I want to stop interacting with you immediately, but for one reason or another can't tell you to just fuck off.

    Does it make sense now?

Do you understand what the common factor is when you and people like you constantly complain about "NPCs"?

Do you get that it's just people obligated to interact with you and desperate for it to be over?

  • for a person to be human

They have to be alive, that's it bro...

Using that term is a red flag, because it means the speaker is fine dehumanizing people, for something as fucking stupid as not "showing individuality" that is superficial enough a random stranger notices and is fucking entertained.

Only a complete and utter piece of shit is so blase about dehumanizing people in 2025.

    1. Make post saying no one will talk to them
    2. Refuse to talk to anyone.
    3. Magically become popular without changing anything about yourself
  • I wish to properly inform them why I have made this decision and why they should too.

You're asking how to verbalize why you don't like AI, but you won't say why you don't like AI...

Let's see if this helps, imagine someone asks you:

I don't like pizza, how do I tell people the reasons why I don't like pizza?

How the absolute fuck would you know how to explain it when you don't know why they don't like pizza?

  • It feels like I’m surrounded by NPCs.

I mean, that's a big red flag even using that term...

the only people I talk to are my parents, sister, and my girlfriend

Get their honest feedback, and don't get shitty if their feedback isn't positive.

But if you think this is the reason:

I’m probably just an asshole nobody wants to talk to

Then work on being nicer, it's not going to hurt.

After a while, try reaching out to some old friends, if you've done something shitty, that would be a good time to apologize. But you gotta put the work in before reaching out or you'll get the same result.

  • Why care?

You're wanting to go out and argue with people and try to use logic when that part of their brain has literally atrophied.

It's not going to accomplish anything, and likely just drive them deeper into AI.

Plenty of people that need help actually want it, put your energy towards that if you want to help people.

  • If it's real life, just talk to them.

If it's online, especially here on lemmy, there's a lot of AI brain rotted people who are just going to copy/paste your comments into a chatbot and you're wasting time.

They also tend to follow you around.

They've lost so much of their brains to AI, that even valid criticism of AI feel like personal insults to them.

  • Very?

This isn't a very good question, and I have no idea why a self labeled bot account would make it.

  • Some people wanted it to immediately get huge...

Just so it can have all the other issues big social media has.

They didn't want something different, they wanted to be an "early adapter" of the next reddit.

  • and had replies that ignored the question I asked and insulted me and said my question was stupid

    No you didn't...

    https://lemmy.world/post/39082490

My reply telling them to stop being rude and answer the question if they want to comment was removed by the mods.

Looking at the modlog, you had one comment removed for being flippant and not contributing to the conversation. Which is what you're claiming doesn't happen...

  • Kind of like asking what murderers or drug dealers do...

Different people do it different ways, but lots of high profile cult leaders are in jail, you can actually find out on an individual basis, but if you average them all up, you get no valuable data
