I'm not crazy about the concept, either, but I'm also going to call a spade a spade. When Ukraine falls, the front will shift to new borders, introducing war and displacement to new areas. If Russia advances, all of Europe will have been able to help prevent it, but did not. They would have let Ukraine get ground to dust for a few years, only to fall anyway. Sure, they helped a little, with training and supplies, but the death toll is uniquely Ukrainian.
Intent aside, wouldn't it be easier to shore up current defences? Ukraine is already the NATO crumple zone, it would make more sense to keep them at that line.
Now for blind conjecture. Perhaps trump sold out Ukraine to allow Russia to have the minerals and oil of Ukraine. In exchange, Europe gets the constant threat of WW3. Americans, scared to stay where they're at, but are more terrified by the prospects of open war as it sweeps across countries, stay on American shores.
With all going on in the world, and we need not name specifics, being able to spot silver lined moments like this is essential to a life that lends itself to stopping to smell the roses. I fear that is something that is easy to overlook in a chaotic world such as ours. Good on you for noticing and pointing it out, I can only hope to emulate.
Nice, we're about to run a pirate campaign with like 9, 10 people. We'll be lucky to finish a round of combat in a session, but it'll be one to remember for sure.
Lucky, we had to postpone a session 0 due to people having plans for the super bowl. Super boring game, and the whole event felt off. I fell asleep before it ended, but spent the whole time thinking about the fun we could have had.

I know a guy who voted for trump exclusively to end DEI and removedness in video games. He claimed his immersion was ruined by a character being trans. In a game with sorcery and dragons and monsters, he couldn't handle a digital person not being happy with their assigned gender. As if there wouldn't be people studying magic to change their gender, if magic were real.
Yeah, I know someone who won't watch that episode again because of how unsettling it is. Luckily for them, it's slowly becoming reality.
