  • I have Jellyfin instance open to the internet. Not many people use it besides me (and even I use it seldom for now) but I have like 3 people beside me that have tried it out.

I am not sure if there is invite capability or anything. But the way I did it is just create logins and basic passwords for my friends and family and tell them that they should change it upon first login.

As for streaming - I did watch couple of movies outside home through android app and had no issues with anything quality or connection-wise. It just worked.

  • Horses fuck. Horses in this game are naked humans with horse masks. Naked human horses fuck in this game. Throw a minor into the mix - EVEN IF THAT SCENE WAS NOT SEXUAL, still gives weird pedo vibes.

All this noise is about a child scene in the game that got allegedly deleted. We'll find out that after release.

  • Even giving out great games for free doesn't make Epic more likeable. That is a next level failure.

If anything, other companies need to do the same as Valve does to gain respect and popularity. But, here we are.

  • Tim: Valve doesn't understand the market. AI is going to lead gaming industry.

Also Tim: VALVE IS A MONOPOLY AND SHOULD SEIZE TO EXIST.

  • Feels like they’re just trying to use the controversy as publicity.

If it looks like a dog, barks like a dog, it is a dog. They are definitely pulling out a publicity stunt. Their site proudly promotes the fact that they got banned off steam. You bet that is intentional.

  • I run Nextcloud of an NAS appstore. NAS is Asustor Drivestor 4 gen2 - Realtek RTD1619B CPU with 2GB non-expandable DDR4 ram. NAS runs couple of other services like Vaultwarden, Radarr, Sonarr, Uptime Kuma and maybe something else, I dont remember. NAS runs at around 10% CPU and 50% RAM at all times.

Nextcloud isntance is AIO and I have no choice in what type it is. There also are no other good file hosting services but Nextcloud on the app store.

Now the experience: It is slow. Slower than say Google Drive. Login page loads slow but not too slow. I would describe it as sluggish. Like if you run windows 98 file manager on a 5400rpm old drive and you just want to copy couple of files. I went to admin panel and disabled all junk that I will definitely wont run in future. That made it bit faster than before. It works but could be much snappier. Maybe in near future I will move to Opencloud or Owncloud or whatever other services that are similar experience to Nextcloud are.

In my defense, I barely use Nextcloud. It is a nice-to-have option to upload any files that I may find useful to save or/and access later. Therefore, I want to note that sluggishness of Nextcloud doesn't bother me. But I wish it would be as snappy as Immich is.

  • A monopoly (from Greek μόνος, mónos, 'single, alone' and πωλεῖν, pōleîn, 'to sell') is a market in which one person or company is the only supplier of a particular good or service. A monopoly is characterized by a lack of economic competition to produce a particular thing, a lack of viable substitute goods, and the possibility of a high monopoly price well above the seller's marginal cost that leads to a high monopoly profit.[1]

Steam is not the only supplier of particular goods, they do not own the market, they have not the highest price and do not lack competition. It is just that their service is far better than whatever competition offers. Nothing stops Microsoft, EA and Epic to implement same features Steam does. Like, literally nothing. These companies have money to do so. They just chose not to.

  • Which is surprising, considering how much money they generate off amazon store.

All it takes is to give a good service like Valve does. But somehow, as in Zippy's pic, competition keeps shooting themselves in a foot. Probably due to shareholders that Valve does not have.

  • They are definitely doing things right. My HX99G and Bazzite runs games much smoother compared to Windows 11. Or at least it feels like. CS2 de_train somehow has +40fps on Bazzite with the same settings on win11. Doom 2016 on ultra produces less fan noise when played on Bazzite (and maybe 10fps gain). Some other games feel like they work better on Bazzite too. But that is just by feeling.

Considering that Steam Deck is a very low power device that can run AAA projcects of its release year - that is a major point in trusting Valve and their Steam machines capabilities.

  • Also, survey is opt-in. Many just close it when pop-up appears. But I doubt 5090 and 9080 owners would click away.

  • 910 is a pro CS2 player from Mongolian team The MongolZ /s

  • Doing 5th 100% run of Psychonauts 2. Just finished my favorite part of the game - Compton's Cookoff. Gonna try to influence my wife to play It Takes Two with me after I am finished with the game.

  • can support

    So, it doesn't yet. (?)

  • It is very different from the Early Access times. At some point they have rebuilt the whole game from ground up. Still is a murder-hobo-survival but is much more fun, nicer looking, better optimized and higher-skill-based game.

  • If you can't play a specific game on linux due to anti-cheat and you still have to encounter cheaters on windows - is this a linux problem somehow?

  • Logically, these must be hell of a repayable ones.

Minecraft The Binding of Isaac Afterbirth+ Skyrim Diablo 2 HD Warcraft 3 TFT +tons of custom maps

Psychonauts (though choice between 1 and 2, but I feel that 1 is more cult classic) NFS Most Wanted 2005 Minecraft (with a juicy mod like TPPI or the 1.12.1 pack) GTA SA (even tho VC is my fav, SA has more stuff to do) WoW WotLK Azerothcore Single player.

  • Approximate same power mini-pc - Minisforum HX99G, when being sold (discontinued as of today) used to be at a price around $800. Sometimes it was found to be sold at discount price of $700.

I want to believe that Steam Machines will be lower than that due to brand name recognition and mass production.

  • Just wanted to post this video. If this tiny undervolted, underpowered, palm sized APU machine can run these games at these FPS, I am willing to bet that steam machines gonna run games without dropping a sweat at 4k.

Also, a portable Steam Deck can run BG3. Steam machines will be fine.
