  • I'm not sure it's disabled in Linux. Might be a BIOS 'feature'.

  • Thanks a lot. I'm not really sure what are the shipping times. I'm briefly in Europe, so this might be an option...if they're quick to ship.

EDIT: After some checking in XDA, I think this model might not be supported for installing LOS. But I might be able to use it without root perhaps...I only need to change the launcher (and remap the home button to the new launcher maybe), disable updates and install f-droid. And the just install jellyfin.

  • Except the Dells now might have HEVC hardware decoding disabled at OS level to save a few licensing bucks.

  • What is your "privacy" browser... And how did you disable this?

  • Yeah that's what i meant, one of those android dongles... But which one is good for it. And I wouldn't be able to bring the server with me, as it has about 10Tb now between movies and TV shows.

  • Yeah... But I'd prefer it not to be my phone. It's a bit quirky in desktop mode, too.

  • Is it called ONN in the UK too? Thanks!

  • Thanks...yeah that's the one. I'm not sure where to source it from, either in Europe or in Asia.

  • As already suggested, for portable media exFAT is the way to go. Might also need an additional package not immediately installed by default, but nothing a quick apt-get install or dnf install won't sort out in a second.

  • ... Check duckdns constant resolution issues. There's lots of threads about their inconsistency and unreliability. Can't really complain, because it's truly free, but there's no full week that goes without issue.

  • Is it possible to make it to only activate when plugged in?

  • What's "the privilege of running a local model"? If it's on a computer, it's not much of a privilege, gpt4all can get up and running in a minute. For mobile phones RAM is more of an issue.

  • Is there a guide to do this? That's what I'm trying to figure out, what steps I'd need to do to clean it or even replace it.

  • Yup it does. Very sharp and usually much louder than the actual playback volume.

  • Thanks, i think I'll get deoxit definitely, I've seen it recommended everywhere.

Regarding the dac...there is only one left. Phono and radio are taken. So only aux was left... That's why I'm trying to go for something covering both. If not possible, could you recommend a good BT DAC?

  • I think it was a C13 generic socket in the rear, so any cable could connect. Really, the only thing giving trouble seemed to be the volume.

  • Thanks! I guess I can try to clean them first. The amp does turn on, and as long as I'm not changing the volume, it does play back correctly. If things continue to deteriorate, I'll consider a fix.

  • Onion is also decentralized, and everyone knows it's monitored by the alphabet agencies. So yeah, I'd consider a hidden encryption vulnerability a solid possibility.
