Liberalism is the ideology that says everyone should have equal rights, freedom of speech etc except "bad/troublesome actors".
In practice, bad/troublesome actors can include anyone. This ideology was created in early USA and in britain. And its proponents, on one hand said "equal rights for all" but also had slaves. In britain, liberals supported the subjugation of india because india was "a bunch of barbaric savages who needed to be civilized". Today immigrants or religious minorities are also excluded from these rights under the pretense of national security.
What we have today is neo-liberalism, that extends liberalism to include economic policies such as capitalism, and finance banking etc. (There's probably more to it, but i am a bit rusty in my knowledge about this topic).
In general I agree with you, but I would refrain from using evolution/DNA example. Because then it leads to 'social darwinism'.
Evolution does not mean 'more evolved is better' but rather 'more suited to the environment'.
Take psychopathy (or even apthy towards minority groups) as an example, in a capitalist system, psychopathy is more evolved because you get to climb the corporate ladder faster.
But this assumes that capitalism is unchanging, and final form of our society. But in reality, we can change the system. Under socialism or social democracy (with strict laws), psychopathy would no longer be 'more evolved'.
If we just focused on maximizing profits, it would efficiently allocate all the resources among the people. And if this system does cause inequalities, then it must be coming externally from outside the system.
'discover' in the meme and in your comment don't have the same meaning. But if this was a competition of who can use a dictionary, you would have won for sure.
IMO, developing conciousness of the society is far more important than choosing the lesser evil.
Also the bigger evil, is only evil in your view. And letting the course run, is one of the best ways for that big evil to show people why it is bigger evil.
I live near switzerland, and there is this new lung infection that is spreading over here. It is viral unfortunately, which means no antibiotics.
Your parents should have gone to a doctor in switzerland.
As for being worried, basically everyone around me have been getting sick lately but no one is seriously ill because of it. It did take a while for them to be feel better tho.
First part everyone would agree. Second part, no way in hell.
Hamas is also the government, which means they are government employees who have never taken a gun or done anything. But you go beyond and call every supporter of them "in favor of literal terrorism"
It's like blaming all jews and supporters of judaism for the action of zionists
A friend of mine said something reaaaaaalllllly controversial. IDF claims everyone in GAZA is a terrorist. But look at Israel, everyone has mandatory military service. Everyone has either been in IDF, is currently in IDF, or will be in IDF.
If anything the opposite of "everyone in GAZA is a terrorist" holds more ground honestly.
Your whole point is "you don't know" without actually providing anything. I may be wrong but at least im saying something. Please try and at least say something, otherwise what's the point of your comment? Gain upvotes/give down votes on lemmy?
And at least for me, I actually live in EU and many of my friends have worked and many acquaintances are still working as servers so at least my opinion has some worth.
I am literally talking about how much suffering it would cause if we keep trying to "fix capitalism" with bandage after bandage and how each and everything would need fixing which will turn into something not capitalistic anyways.
I don't want to be rude but people should have better reading comprehension and learn to read between the lines or just read i guess.
Sure tipping for things may not be applicable in eu. But here's another example: imagine the first person who got a loan cuz they wanted to buy a house but didn't have the money at the time.
The bank who lent the money did a nice thing. Other banks and people started doing the same. And because people had access to more money, the price of houses increased to match with it.
Despite the fact that those people don't actually have that money and now it is a requirement. Nobody can afford to buy a house unless they go into debt. Again this is capitalism and the free market in action.
The reason tipping so "people can have livable wage" is not a thing in the EU is because the EU does have a livable minimum wage.
The concept of minimum wage is inherently anti-capitalistic. It is against the principles of free market.
The issue with tipping is an issue with capitalism.
It is capitalism that has ruined nice things. Imagine the first person who tipped someone because their service was good and it was a nice thing to do. Next other people started doing it as well, which makes the profession with tipping more favorable.
This leads to a higher supply of workers and lower demand and the market adjusts which means lower pay because "they will receive tips".
Also it is easy to vilify the shop owners for doing something that the system encourages and even demands them. We don't know how or in what ways the shop owners are suffering because of the system.
Also to acknowledge their suffering is not to say that their suffering is equal to the suffering of their workers but rather we need to identify that everybody suffers in capitalism (except the very rich/elites).
The way to fix this is to stop tipping altogether. This will hurt the workers for sure but their suffering is necessary in order for things to change, at least under the current system.
Or alternatively, we can try and abolish the system altogether.
There are groups that give access to pirated AI. When I was a student, i used them to make projects. As for how they get access to it? They usually jailbreak websites that provide free trials and automate the account creation process. The higher quality ones scam big companies for startup credits. Then there are also some leaked keys.
Anyways thats what i would call "pirated AI". (Not the locally run AI)
