  • So actually looked into the social credit system a while ago and it turns out a lot of it is myth and it seems to have been largely wound down after some abuse by some of the ?prefectures? where it was trialed and used to punish a few people (it was supposed to reward good behaviour by businesses and institutions apparently) but what remains did strike me as very similar to credit score, although it's maybe slightly more accountable? Maybe?

    Anyway both seem dogshit, although a system verifying how organisations actually act (e.g. counter greenwashing and shit with hard evidence) would be cool if anyone could make it work.

    What a ludicrous statement. I'm not even offended, that's just funny. Murdering Nazi fuckers being good is probably close to one of my most deeply held beliefs, as is common in basically everyone who's family was exterminated by them.

    The French largely completely collaborated. The French resistance were impressive, but they had significant aid, lots of French jew were killed because the state and police actively supported Nazi efforts https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Holocaust_in_France, the Nazis never regarded ethnically French people as untermensch to be worked to death in camps so they didn't face the same systemic murder that Slavic people did, the policy of lebensraum didn't target fench lands for "emptying".

    You can't be coherant because you just want other people to die for your ideals but you stay inside posting all day.

  • It just seems insane to me that anyone could look at the death toll, the injuries, the people being conscripted, the flattened cities, the POWs and consider this a good outcome because a lot of Russians also died.

    You have to really hate Slavs if you're that full of glee at fields of dead that you don't care that the side you're "supporting" is in ruins and the government is forcing people into the meat grinder.

    Fight them, or find a way to stop the death. Russia has more people, they will win a war of attrition.

    But hey if you're a French president or whatever you get to test your hardware, weaken Russia, kill off a lot of those pesky Slavs that keep migrating for work that really riles up the racists against the EU, and you can postition yourself as the leader of an axis for freedom. It's wins all round.

I don't care for the russian state, hell I'd love to see Putin and his oligarchs hanging skinned in a public square along with every other blood thirsty parasite crushing us all. I just find it pretty telling that it's always people considered "undesirables" by those in power who suffer and die for Realpolitik.

  • I didn't say there are never any issues I said it's fine. The idea that "success stories" are only amd is silly. 90/100 times unless you're using bleeding edge hardware or pathologically fussy you just hit play and stuff works. 9 out of the remaining 10 times you tweak a proton version or wine setting, the other time it's a driver bug.
