  • Once I have a job I'm going to rent a seedbox for public trackers. Fuck DMCA!

  • Corporations would prefer to take away your right to public utilities than face a loss to their profit margin.

  • When engaging in criminal activity, you have no "legal" recourse for malicious behavior, so you work on the web of trust instead.

If you can't trust the software, nor the publisher, nor the hash verified by however many seeders, then don't download it in the first place. Me personally, considering I install indie porn games on the regular and never once gotten a virus that I know of, I think it's worth it to trust others.

Of course you could always go into paranoid zero trust mode but sometimes being a social being means trusting the criminal serving you free shit isn't ratfucking your data

  • Time to start hosting Trojans on your website

  • Give all trans people the bodies they want for 30 mins

  • Clearnet shall become brainfucked by states and corporations if'n it already hasn't been, and OpenNIC and Dark Web pirates will reign supreme. Remember, this stuff only really affects public trackers and "cable pirates," not sophisticated private tracker communities or anything else

Valve's DRM was inspired by an exec's nephew, who 'used a $500 check I'd sent him for school expenses and bought himself a CD-ROM replicator… he sent me a lovely thank you note'

  • I'm no Sysadmin but to me it sounds like we need a botnet/scraper resistant application layer protocol to replace HTTPS.

  • Thus to all proprietary software!

  • Dual licensure is the obvious solution. Have a strong copyleft license as default (Sorry MIT!) and then have a non-transferrable commercial license for proprietary businesses.

  • How do you contribute when there's the Wikipedia effect?

  • Good

  • Zero trust. Assume everything is compromised and mitigate the risk from each thing that is compromised.

ISP spying on you? VPN, encryption, spoof a metadata trail to throw off any potential correlation attacks.

Compromised modem? Air gap stuff, use wired LAN, some other stuff idk.

And so on. Just keep in mind that sometimes, your data just isn't that valuable, and plan accordingly

  • Megathread: Braflix.gd has been taken down

  • I think P2P especially BitTorrent is still strongly resistant against any type of fed fuckery, especially if you consider private trackers.

Streaming piracy sites are always going to fall because of DNS and other bullshit.

  • P2P code repo when? Git needs to die in 2025

  • Seems sort of insane for daily wear, but I think having a camera for walks or jogs isn't the worst idea if you've got the money. I'd make sure the security and privacy of the camera and recorder are tip-top though

  • Stop gaslighting me.
