  • I get that. But I just don't browse lemmy much anymore cause all I see is politics. I specifically went out of my way to not subscribe to political communities. But look at the top posts of [email protected], a community I subscribed to for posts about technology, not politics.

3 of the top 4 are about Trump. They are obviously political, there's no ambiguity there.

This is especially annoying as someone not from the US.

  • Discord canary currently has it afaik. Haven't tested it myself

  • Hanlon's razor

  • App if I use it often, website for everything else. The UI is usually better in the app. Many mobile websites are a pain to use. Plus I have a system-wide ad blocker

  • I mean, come on, it has to be Minecraft. One of the most influential games of all time. There really is nothing like it

  • He’s literally able to deduce that Yotsuba Kira is not the original Kira (himself) because the original Kira (himself) did take circumstances into consideration and would show mercy and the other Kira did not.

Yeah, he showed mercy towards non-criminals, but as soon as someone was marked as a criminal he threw that all out the window

  • Yeah, I mean the snap app shown above is being deprecated so there's not even a choice. If you're using Authy on PC you have to switch.

  • Lol, I mean it's better to have a brief period of drama than permanently put up with the bad management. Although Sodium is an exception to that, I think the people working on it are the right people.

I'm conflicted on the license change, though. I don't know if it makes sense or not.

  • Agree. Bugs doesn't normally have boobs though. I feel like that's a bit different. Still doesn't have to mean someone's trans though.

  • I did just that when I first switched to Linux, I installed KDE Neon on Linux Mint. And it broke everything. And when I went to forums to ask for help everyone yelled at me. So maybe don't recommend installing KDE on Linux Mint.

  • Right, so Ubuntu

  • Well then obviously if you use libraries, your code is too complicated

  • Yeah that's because lemmy is way more of an echo chamber so everyone agrees with each other more.

  • Huh, Linux uses GPLv2? Does anyone have any info about why?

Edit: Found a video https://youtu.be/PaKIZ7gJlRU. Makes sense. Complete freedom to use and modify the software means freedom to use the software in a proprietary device with DRM, as long as you still give the changes to the public.

  • If this is about crowdstrike, idk if that quite applies here. I don't think anything really depended on crowdstrike falcon, it just had the ability to break every system it was installed on. If it stopped working but didn't crash the computers no one would care.
