  • It's not quite self hosted, but Soulseek allows you to share share private directories with buddies. Soulseek might require a port forward.

    Other than that, there are the many pasteboard solutions that have been mentioned. They'll either require a port forward or reverse proxy (nginx etc.) to access outside the network though.

  • Well because of this, I bought a new phone and am now using GrapheneOS. I'm hoping to last at least 5 years with this, and hopefully by the time I want a new phone, grapheneos will have made a deal to have more compatible phones.

  • Having seen many of Kaze's videos on N64 development, I've learned that the N64 has like 4x the processing power it needs compared to its memory. In hardware cases like that the trade-off of computational power and memory memory savings gets you some nice performance gains.

  • I both wet my toothbrush and sip a tiny amount of water for brushing. Not only does it help my tongue which is sensitive to toothpaste, it also gets far frothier (which I assume makes for more thorough application).

  • About the app thing. The other day I had to download from the Google play store. The app you search for is NEVER the first app in the resulting list. The first slot is always sponsor slot. I consider myself quite tech literate and I have accidentally installed that sponsored app because I searched for an app (with very specific search terms) and without thought selected the first. Google is one step away from that trope of the moving X button to close the ad. It's infuriating. Now imagine a tech illiterate trying to get an app.

    For temporary stowaways around the house (especially when cooking) it can go in either of the back pockets, depending on which hand I'm holding it with.
