  • You can honestly use a smartphone pretty similarly to a dumbphone.

It's your choice to use apps that aren't email, text messaging, phone, or gps. Nobody is forcing you to use them.

  • Linux piracy can honestly be a pain in the ass. I wouldn't beat yourself up too much over it if it wasn't working properly.

There's someone called "johncena" then some numbers who supposedly uploads some kind of Linux-ready release of games.

I'm a Linux pirate so I've been going through the trials and tribulations to get games to work. For the best results, I typical need to install the game in a Windows VM then copy it over to my main OS. It's a hassle and takes up a lot of storage in the process, but it's nice when it works.

It sucks when it doesn't work and can feel like a waste of time. That's something I've just gotten used to with computers.

  • I have a lenovo, and while the software side seems to be good, the hardware side is not.

They clearly don't give a shit about hinges and use the cheapest, thinnest plastic they can source.

It's fucking stupid and should be illegal, but our representatives don't represent us.

  • About a 7.

Been using Linux for years, have a fairly wide variety of knowledge to pull from, but I'm still not that great or anything.

It definitely feels like progress slows as we get better.

  • You really shouldn't let the state of the world breed you out of the gene pool.

Also, consider how humans in the past lived. Most of them had way, way worse lives than what the average person experiences today.

It's not even close. Take a look at what life was like before we eradicated Smallpox, for example.

Right now is unironically the safest, most prosperous time in human history to have children.

  • Not in the least.

You should look at people born in the past.

  • Yep. It's part of the culture of consumption.

I immediately don't take a recommendation for entertainment seriously if it's something that was recently released.

  • Ask Lemmy @lemmy.world

Do you seem to get angrier at night?

  • Really? Just about everyone I come across is surprised when they find this out.

  • You Should Know @lemmy.world

YSK that cholesterol is only found in significant quantities in animal products.

  • I guess you can't read either. I'm not surprised, honestly.

Gonna block ya now since you seem desperate for the last reply. You may have it.

  • Not really.

I'm not a useful idiot going to bat for the people taking money from me while getting mad at whoever calls it out.

  • Episode 0. I've never seen it, but it seems like the kind of dumb normie-show that I wouldn't like. I base this solely off of all the morons I see that went apeshit over it when it came out.

Instead, treat yourself to some high-brow art like Undone. You probably haven't heard about it because it's an Amazon Prime exclusive, and most of the idiots today "consuming" digital entertainment have been conditioned to only see what's a part of their paid streaming service(s).

Since we're smarter than the average idiot, we can stream it for free here: https://hydrahd.io/ No account or credit card info required, but you will need an adblocker (which you should already have, but many morons complain about ads to this day without realizing adblockers exist.)

  • Do they specifically mention how banning porn is a step towards attacking queer people?

  • The ruling class deemed that's what they need to do, so that's what they do.

Personally, I think our rulers are getting upset that we're not spitting out babies as much as we used to, so their offspring will have fewer servants to boss around.

It's always acceptable to kill a rich person. Their culture and lifestyle results in magnitudes more death and suffering than if every rich person was hung.

  • Bless your heart.

  • You might want to brush up on your reading comprehension, buddy.

  • Showerthoughts @lemmy.world

The solar industry is full of parasites because it's easy to sell solar to uneducated customers

  • Kiss the ring.

  • To counter everyone saying "they do," could you be referring to more high-profile cases?

Trump was shot at, but not killed. Would've made history if he was.

The US doesn't have political assassinations on the level of say, Mexico, but they are frequent enough for someone to be able to point to them still happening. Usually it's about some congressperson that we've never heard of.

I'm not sure if there's greater protection based on the popularity of politicians. It would make sense if someone like AOC gets more protection than, well, someone we haven't heard of.

  • Very very bad.

I thought Hillary would win the 2016 election.
