  • Really good friend and I used to play the mp 1v1 for hours and hours. The slide tackles and jump kicks were ridiculously op. Eventually we got a backup version running for lan parties. After about half an hour of absolutely wrecking shop, the rest of our crew decided the only way to make it fair was to go 2v10.

That didn’t help them at all. We still dominated even when we switched to melee only. It was wild the range you could connect those moves at and it was always a 1 shot even against full armor.

Such a fun game from a truly classic era of pc gaming.

As an aside, Trepang ² is a wonderful spiritual successor.

  • Enhance

  • Can I get this with a few more pixels?

  • Ever since the first time I loaded it up on Genesis, the Streets of Rage 2 menu theme has been an all timer for me. It’s the perfect encapsulation of 90’s techno and sets the mood for one of the greatest beat ‘em ups of all time.

  • Hell yes. One of the most dumb fun games of all time with an amazing cast of characters.

RIP IdolNinja, hopefully you can feel the love in this mod from beyond.

  • Not the exact answer you’re looking for, but a $500 Mac mini would be a fantastic solution. That or an entry level MacBook Air.

I run Linux on my desktop for most things but all my music production is done on MacBooks. If you want a turn key solution, this is the way.

Every vst, midi device and mixing console I have just works. Well worth the sub $1000 investment.

Hell, my touring setup runs off a 8 year old MacBook Pro you could likely pick up for under $400.

  • I'd argue the most effective anticheat is dedicated servers. Admin'ed a lot of CS, TFC, and Q3 servers growing up and it was easy enough to kick/ban any one hacking or being an unrepentant dick. Downside for the corps is, you can't gate all that dlc as easy when users have control.

  • Theres no drink option other than overly hoppy IPA (gross, I know, but it is the pnw) and likely salmon on some mixed greens.

  • It was surprisingly good. Not life changing but they had some messages and themes that they wanted to convey and did so pretty damn well.

Gets a little ahead of itself in moments but honestly, there are tons of far worse films released every year.

  • Was the soldered CMOS different than the removable one? I fought the battery (removable) in mine for a year or two and eventually just shelved it. Would love to get it running as a low energy emulation station if it's salvageable

  • Who knew we'd live to see a world where consoles increase in price 5 years in to the generation.

    I hate this timeline.

  • This game is a technical mess. Oblivion is top 3 of all time for me. I'm the target audience for a litany of reasons, yet I refunded it after 3 hours.

It runs like shit on everything. Windows? Check. Linux? Check. Steam Deck? Check. GeforceNow? Check.

As soon as you leave the prison it all falls apart. Hopefully the next few months of patching can salvage it. I'll keep an eye on reports. Until then though, the console versions seem to be the only way it's worth trying to run this release.

    Specs for anyone interested:

    PC running Win 11 23h2 and PopOS - Ryzen 5900x, 5080FE

Laptop Running 24h2 and Mint Ryzen 7945HX, 4080

Both of those should be able to run this game at 240 1080p, 120 2k or 60 4k and unfortunately none of that happens. Its just a see saw of random drops and stutters not matter what settings I use.

  • Sweet. Does it finally fix the black screen issues? My 5080 is damn near unusable.

    Fucking scrub ass drivers.

nm, realized which sub this was. Black screens aren't a problem on Linux... Yet.

  • It is a real dog to control on PC unfortunately. Tried with wired and wireless controllers, Steam and GOG. It was made in that era where there was no common PC controller drivers. Mouse control is pretty jumpy as well.

That said, fantastic game if you can get over the humps. There's a few good mods as well to update some of the jank.

  • Additionally, you can purchase "parts" bags/kits which are marketed as "repair accessories" for 11+ rd magazines(usually 30 rds for 5.56 and 7.62). These somehow skirt around the law from my understanding. You're buying the complete mag, but assemble it yourself.

  • We call that doing lines around these parts.

  • Julie Christmas is a personal favorite.

The Battle of Mice records are harrowing (content warning for DV). Made Out of Babies was incredible as well. Same for her work with Cult of Luna. Some really, really unique vocals there.

My personal favorite is the Spylacopa Self Titled record. That album was a great blending of styles and guest artists, but Julie's work stands out.
