  • Parents, do y'all love your children more/less depending on if they reciprocate it? Or do you love your children the same regardless, even if they hate you?

  • I love them the same no matter what, but some parents are not like that. Particularly narcissistic parents base their relationships with their children around conditional love. This teaches the child that they need to have certain qualities in order to deserve love, which can then turn the child into a narcissist.

  • I’ve quit and gone back a few times over the last decade or so. Easiest time quitting recently was with zyns. Started with the 6 mg then to 3mg when I was ready. The rule was I’d put one in every time I thought about going to buy a vape. Weened myself pretty naturally.

  • Lemmy is the last stronghold of the Wild West. The only patch of grass in an enormous parking lot. No one owns it, theres no ads, it’s just a bunch of people on the internet like the old days. That’s what gives it value.

    That said the niche communities are still too small and the learning curve to get involved is too steep to fix that. The only niche communities that have a lot of users are focused on tech because the user base has to be technically literate to even make an account and see content.

  • That’s a fair point but I’m not accepting votes at this time anyway. What I was really looking for were personal experiences to reassure me that my son wouldn’t hate me or feel insecure if he were not circumcised and in at least a few cases that’s what I got.
