That’s funny, I’m guessing they thought they were being original and edgy when they merely looped back to the older use. In any case, I’m glad programming lingo doesn’t sound like a klan rally
It’s weird seeing language shift away from “master” as we become more politically correct in the US. I’d never even considered the connotation until recently.
Hmm, I wonder whether that’s the case. Alright, ~10% of men are gay and 2% are ace or aro. That’s 88% who might. Now, 25% of married men cheat on their spouses and about 50% of men are married or in a comparable relationship. That means that 12.5% of men might consider it and 37.5 wouldn’t. Let’s round on the safe side. 52% might consider it. Anyone have statistics on racial/age preference or rejection from men? I’ve done all I can
This is bizarre, I made certain that hilariouschaos wasn’t on our blocked instance list both by reading through the list and by ctrl+f before I posted. I have absolutely no clue how I could have made that mistake.
Unless someone else has the same language set, they won’t be able to see this. The percentages for users are supposed to be something like 2% English, 5% other, 93% undefined. I can’t exactly go for a discussion with 2% of Lemmy.
It requests that I change my language on the web interface, and doing so would effectively dismiss 99% of lemmy. I’m fine with looking a little foolish to include others
I realize that I should avoid engaging in chicanery while attempting to spur change, but I couldn’t help myself. That’s my nickname you’re seeing. Click my profile to see my username
I have to imagine that 9/11 is tough on those who had been affected by it. It effectively offered bush the freedom to attack any nation he chose, and he immediately executed on the opportunity, stole trillions of dollars, and now he’s considered cute and silly. And so people disappointedly meme the holiday that signaled decades of wasted lives. If I had been affected, I’d just skip using social media for the week before and after. Between “never forget” and “watch this drive”, it’s rough.
Definitely shoot them some messages or emails. You deserve clarity on this, and so do they.
