Is it common for family members to spy on each other's sexual behavior to find evidence of "degeneracy"? Or did I grow up in hell?

No, this is not normal. Or at least my upbringing was nothing like this. I grew up catholic (until 12) and my extended family is fairly conservative. While I did fall into the cishet paradigm, no one was spying on me and looking for evidence I wasn't.
Is there anything you didnt share that would explain further why they did what they did? Can you think of any reason they would suspect you?

Have vivid flashbacks of the encounter and beat myself up about it for about 3 days. Then move on after I've allowed myself to process it long enough. Sometimes experience the flashback again, but not as frequently.

I haven't given them anything and have been using desktop for almost 3 years now. I run Ubuntu server at work without any issues either. I signed up for pro for free on my home desktop and didnt have to pay anything.

Where do they attempt to get money from me? Asking because I'm legitimately not sure.

I struggled with it for years and finally was able to quit watching it. I think porn is fine for most people and masterbation is normal, but I personally had problems controlling myself. I still wank it, but do so to my own imagination.

I'm curious if you've seen this TED talk and what you think of it. It's an interesting argument that while our brains can handle porn, excessive use can cause behavioral changes such as preferring porn over a real partner.

Many people don't understand that porn is a super stimuli and our brains can be rewired to prefer it over normal sex. They will also argue it is propaganda to suggest such a thing - primarily because of the stigma around sex in a puritan society like ours.

I'm no saint here and don't have an easy button for you. All I can suggest is go as long as you can without porn, then masturbate to your imagination. The longest streak I've managed to avoid porn did this. It may not work for you, but its worth a try.

I realized I had similar issues you mentioned and found online communities that don't discriminate like rebootnation. Another good reminder that this can happen to anyone is the YouTube series by Terry fucking Crews: dirty little secret. If he had a problem with porn, anyone can.

I smoked tobacco from 15-25. Tried several times to quit and finally did. I had to convince myself I hated the taste, so I would only buy the shittiest tobacco possible. Sometimes I'd buy the pouches to force myself to roll my own without a filter, which is fucking gross.

I didn't drink (much if at all) until my late 20s. Having a drink socially is fine and can be a great way to meet new people, so long as you don't overdo it and make an ass of yourself. I still drink and am trying to do something similar to what I did with tobacco - basically only drink the lowest ABV option available, or wine with dinner.

Cannabis is a mixed bag for me. I started young around 13 and smoked heavily until my mid 20s, quit mostly, and now smoke again (but far less than when I was younger). I quit for weeks at a time and may smoke a bit before playing video games or when I complete a big project.

I consider cannabis the least harmful since it isn't very addictive, elevates my mood, and I don't ever "smoke too much".

I struggle to parse fast paced song lyrics, so often find myself listening more to the music than what they are saying. This has gotten me in trouble before.

Right now I am digging Dance with the Dead's "Driven to Madness". Reminds me of an 80s monster movie synth/metal album.

Depends on the night. When it is me I do some simple sautéed vegetables, a rice, and protein (tofu or meat). Sometimes I branch out and do pasta or casseroles.
